Problem with reappearing folder

I have an old folder on my desktop that I've deleted several times and it keeps popping back up the next day.

is there anyone that knows how I would go about getting rid of it permanently?

maybe you've deleted the folder but not the contents. try looking at the programs in your control panel and see if anything related to that folder shows up

the folder is empty and everything relating to it has been deleted for a while

Is this a folder that you named, or something totally different? I'm assuming the later. I would do a Spyware scan, IMO.

yes, it's a folder I created and named

It would still do a virus scan just to be safe, IMO. Also, are ya usin' XP or Vista? I know some of the diehards are still on XP. hehe. =P

You can also go into safe mode, and delete it and press F8 at boot up will get your into safe mode option, and try deleting it from there. If that doesn't help, head on back and I'll give you a few more software options, or something to that effecting depending what OS your using.

Was there a start up folder link to it, or did you just use it for storing files? For a program could still be using it, and searching for it as well. Heck, even a link to the system. I take it you've tried what I've suggested? Did it help out a little bit, like it deleted, but on reboot it came back, or a few days later? =D

I'm still inclined that folder is infected with something, or something ya don't know about. Also, make sure "Hidden System" files are showing. Could have a .tmp in there that the system is hiding, but you couldn't delete.
