Prototype

its good but I'm stuck at one part and cant find any pointers

Wow, have to say I disagree with that. I find most of their reviews fairly good. There's some I disagree with, but I'd say on average I end up concurring with them more then any other review place

I find their reviews all over the place. Reviews arent really that informative either as they spend most of the time talking about the give by throwing out lame jokes. I think they fail at explaining why and how they come to the score they give a game and thats where a written review is a better option as reviewers can go more in depth. Their quick 2 minute overiew is too short for me to actually find valid. Another thing I noticed is that where most review sites place a 7 or 7.5 as an average score, Xplay's seems more weighted towards a 3 which would translate to a 6 on a 10 point scale

Well, you're going to lose a little in transition when using out of 5 scores vs out of 10.

X-Play also has full written versions of all their reviews on their website so that's really not a problem. I admit sometimes their jokes are fairly weak, but sometimes I get a chuckle out of them. Though I can never say I've ever seen a review from them that I had no idea why they liked or disliked the game, I've always thought that was very clear in the vast majority of their video review. The only exceptions are when the game in question is so bad you can just tell it's horrible so there's not much left to say

i also feel that xplay is a big advertisement for xbox. sessler even let that slip when he said "We are pretty much owned by microsoft"

i just unlocked all the powers the last thing you get are the full body armor and the arm blade , you get them at the same time.

anybody else this far?

Lol, I'm pretty sure that was only a joke. They've given good scores to PS3 exclusive titles (KZ2, MGS4, InFamous) and are usually, I've personally found, to be one of the more honest review places

Do you disagree with the number score or with what they had to say about the game itself???

Well, the review Teamxbox had so far sums up how I feel about the game. They gave it a 7.3 or something close to that.

The climbing/wall running/gripping to walls is broken or annoying at the least. It does weird things when you cling to things that can't be clung to and its really hard to grab some orbs and what not.

The gameplay, which Teamxbox dubbed it 'the kitchen sink syndrome', and its true, throws everything under the sun at you and will probably get worse as the game goes on. Its slightly frustrating. A fail, try again, succeed formula.

Its okay but I'll probably trade it in after I beat it.

i have to disagree. but different strokes for different folks

Thats fine. I'm being honest though. I will admit that at times inFamous has a bit of a glitchy climbing system. Not as terribly sensitive as Prototype but still.

You should note those are the only real huge/irritating problems I have with this game. Everything else is pretty cool. Although I hate race missions. In any game. I hate them. Why do developers think these are fun? The bullseye jump side missions are pretty nifty.

So I am looking for a new game while I wait for Ghostbusters so is this game worth it ?

I just played this game for 5 hours.....its that fun.
If your not gonna buy at least rent and just entertain yourself with it
IF you liked Spiderman 2: The Game...you'll like this

I finally got to play it this evening and it's freaking awesome, wow, soooo many characters on screen at once as well as all the mayhem going on around you, and the draw distance, very impressive!!! Yeah the graphics aren't that great but they're not that bad either, they're pretty good considering all that is happening on screen, so far I give it a 9/10!!!:D:up:

It does remind me of Hulk to an extent. I can't really get into games where your character is so ridiculously overpowered and you just run around causing insanity. I know it probably gets more intricate later in the game but i played the first few levels at Game Crazy earlier, and it just did not do anything for me. A little kid who had to be no more than like 7 or 8 played after I did and got objectives by just button mashing.

No install problem for me. Was too tired to play last night though. Will try today

button smash works on certain missions but there are parts where you do have to use strategy and there are parts where you have to sneak. so its not all "rock and roll" mode

I have to agree about XPLAY.

I find they're reviews to be hit or miss at times.

They can't review sports games to save they're own lives. The MLB 2K series...cannot even compete with the SHOW series.

I've heard that Prototype can require a certain amount of stratgey because the military can tear you to shreds if your not careful.

How's New York look?

Gamespot review is up now: http://www.gamespot.com/xbox360/action/prototype/review.html?tag=topslot;img;1

And it's good. An 8.5 from Gamespot is very good score.

This open-world action game set in Manhattan is proof that even viral outbreaks can be incredibly fun if they're done right.

The Good
  • Intriguing storyline and protagonist
  • Varied missions that can be approached in numerous ways
  • Massive arsenal of moves and abilities
  • Plenty of activities and challenges outside of main story
  • Challenging, but almost never frustrating.
The Bad

  • The scenery is dull and never changes
  • Occasionally fiddly controls

i agree with that quote on the controls but only when he is running on walls and the scenery changes but i could look the same if you don't pay attention to details. but that's to be had with the first of a new franchise. other then an awesome game i see limitless potential in this series
