Prototype

I'm loving inFamous, actually.
At first I wasn't really interested in this, but after comments here, the GT video review and....the Penny Arcade comic ( ), I decided to get it.
Looks like it has a lot of mileage.

I keep running out of time on the last level damn it!

can someone tell me how you defeat amanda green or whoever it is when they are that giant blob thing coming out of the ground in time square? i keep going for the spinal column but everytime i get close i get knocked away and die. and also its hard because the regular creatures keep attacking you at the same time.

That must be the kitchen sink thing the reviewers were talking about. I'm still playing the game and not there yet but if you are still stuck by the time I get there I'll try to help you out.

If I remember correctly, consume enough to have your meter at full, use some of the buildings close by that have billboards in order to run up towards the blob and get a good jump into the air next to her, then do that air spike attack (Square and Triangle for PS3) in mid air, this will almost completely kill the three support things before you can attack the center. Once the attack is finished, run away, consume enough people and repeat the process until you can get in close and use the air blade drop to kill her. She'll show up in a couple more places, but just repeat the process above. Have armor and your blade engaged.

This is the best way I managed. If you don't have the air spike attack, use projectiles while overhead. Air conditioning units, cars, people etc work well to weaken her.

After she goes underground and comes back up you can jack a few tanks and do some hefty damage.

I would suggest using the tentacles and jump around hitting her while in the air

I haven't had a chance to read through the entire thread yet, but I must say, that Prototype has been one of those game that i've been most displeased with. The main game was good, well the story at least, and great to see if all unfold. However after i completed it, i found nothing to go back and continue to play. Anyone else agree?

Well, I finally beat this game last night. The annoyance factor began to develop about half way through the game. The last 4 to 5 missions were just ridiculous. I found none of them enjoyable but simple attack, run away, come back, attack, run away, etc. They throw to much at you and make you feel basically weak. I also found the last boss battle to be total crap and goes on my list as my #2 of worst boss battles I've ever played.

Game could've been a lot better. I know there are people that like it but this is just my opinion on it. Trading it in today.

I traded it in a week after I got the game. I agree with you on the last missions, very much "run and gun" gameplay. Wasn't happy with the last battle either. Total waste of time actually.

I agree with both above posters. I was pretty excited about this game for awhile. After finally getting it though, I had to struggle just to finish one playthough. Yeah you have alot of powers but nothing to really do with them that doesn't get tedious real quick.

I couldn't stand when i was having fun and jumping from building to building just being "my hero", when all of a sudden, the military are on my tail. I mean what the ****? I did nothing wrong, but then all of a sudden I'm being shot at.

Now i understand the story is i'm wanted by the miltary, but when I want freerom, I want freerom. even when i complete the game too.

You know the military wouldn't be as bad if they didn't have two drones at their bases, two huge enemy characters that can detect you, and 3 detectors. Makes it virtually impossible to breach their bases later on.

Not only that, but it just makes the game boring to continue on with. Once those supersoldiers show up for the military, kiss the last bit of fun factor goodbye.

what I do is get disguised as the military and instantly go for the Commander. As long as you absorb him, you get the key. Just quickly go and hide in one of the alleys so you can quick change and the alert goes as away.

I also hated that you couldn't even try to be a good guy. Yeah you don't have to actively kill people but once you are in the tank you just start racking up the casualties.

I tried that but they ended up shooting me with a rocket while I'm trying to consume him and it kills the character before I can finish. This mostly happens to me during consume side missions.

Its just ridiculous.

you should have enough time if you go straight for the Commander. Dont waste time trying to stealth consume or take out anyone else

Anyone get the platinum trophy or 100% achievements in this game? 2 landmark orbs which I cant find and those difficult platinum events are keeping me from this

Eh, my game was kinda glitchy I would run in like you'd say but I'd get the alert almost instantly after entering the base.

It doesn't matter anymore because I traded it in.

If you are having trouble with the landmark orbs you should go to msxboxworld (I think thats the site) and look at the interactive map they have for this game. I used it to get all of those and the hidden orbs. There is a ton of landmark orbs in the time square area. More than I thought there was.

the thing that bothers me the most is when you are chasing after tagert in his tank and you have 3 checkpoints where you have to destroy tanks around him. well thats easy and fun but i hate how on all rooftops at that point have soldiers shooting rockets at you. It feels impossible to even attempt to move around with them constantly shooting missles. I understand the developers wanted to give us a challenge but i think they overdid the hard factor here. I can understand the super soldiers chasing on rooftops but to add 20 soldiers per roof with rockets is a bit overkill.

Like i said really fun game besides those factors.

I used that map but Im still stuck and dont know which 2 Im missing

Best advice I can give is just to do it all over again but using the check mark system and making sure you are on the correct side of the building of where the orb would be located. Come to think of it some of the pictures were out of order on the Landmarks so that might be your problem. I found a duplicate one when I was searching for a few orbs.

I hope it doesn't become as bad as Crackdown became for me. I went through the 300 orb map 5 times until I finally found it.

turn the game off and trade it in.

I was about too but a week later i finally beat her. this game just gets ridiculous with the mayhem you have to go through while trying to beat a boss. I dont mind a little henchmen fighting you but when your trying to take down a certain character and you have tanks and guys on a roof with missiles shooting at you, you tend to think "ok i think they made it alittle too difficult"

Yeah it was uncalled for IMO. I beat it once and haven't picked it up since.
