PS3 hd upgrade already done.

Actually, that doesn't show that a PS3 was successfully upgraded with a 120GB HDD, at all. That just shows a screen that says "97GB/120GB", that doesn't provide any evidence to support the allegation.

Unless we get a video it's as close to proof as you're going to get. We already know you can upgrade the PS3 HDD with any 2.5 HDD, this isn't like hacking the system guys.

The 97/120 ratio there represents the amount of free space currently on the drive. He has 23 gigs worth of data used.

The odds of him hacking the PS3 at this stage to say 97gb/120gb is ludicrous and only something fanboys of the none Sony camp would consider.

Here:

- The first bar is his MAC Address (Hence why it's obviously blurred out
- Next is his system OS version (1.02) he obviously hasn't upgraded to 1.10 yet.
- Next is his IP Address
- The bar below that is his hard drive free space and total capacity

I wasn't trying to say this was anything to do with hacking. The link gives a guide on how to install a new hard drive through the 6 or 7 steps outlined by telling which screws to take out. I'm sorry I didn't say that in the first post. But I guess that does you no good if you don't know Korean.

BTW Ruliweb is a highly reputable site so unless they were tricked by the original source(which looks like 2ch) this is probably the real deal.

Oh no I meant they were sort of insinuating it was faked, and hacking the PS3 OS software would be the only way to do that. Well, wait, I guess it wouldn't be too hard to fake a picture, but whatever.

Pretty cool, I might expand the storage of my 500 dollar model whenever I end up getting it.

There's also something called 'photoshop'. I'm sure you've heard about it, and unless it actually shows pictures of the PS3 or a video of it, this might as well just be false. Talking about fanboyism.. you're probably one of the worst on this forum, Zen. :whatever:

BAH! Unless you can do R.A.I.D its nothing :down

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RAID

In computing, the acronym RAID (originally 'redundant array of inexpensive disks', now also known as 'redundant array of independent disks') refers to a data storage scheme using multiple hard drives to share or replicate data among the drives. Depending on the configuration of the RAID (typically referred to as the RAID level), the benefit of RAID is one or more of increased data integrity, fault-tolerance, throughput or capacity compared to single drives.

Do you want the PS3 to cost 900 dollars:(

They've already confirmed External hard Drive storage can be used:(

PS3 is far too cheap! It needs to be like.... 3 time as expensive

Yeah, but external is not as cool.... You need a buch of drives stuck together with electrical tape and a really dodgy wire job :O

If the Linux stuff takes off, the replaceable HDD is a really good future option, but I don't see that happening, so I doubt there will be much need for most people to replace the HDD. Unless game installation ends up required on a bunch of games, which would suck.
