PSP Action Game Featuring Big Boss on MG's 20th Anniversary??

I am thinking that EVA is going to die in this game, along with Major Zero. Possibly Sigint and Paramedic too. The loss of all his friends and watching his comrades die, that would perfectly lead up to Outer Heaven.

Can't be. The time line after MGS3 said that Eva disappears I think 7 years after Snake Eater, so this game may well explain why she runs off for good. But she won't be dying.

EVA disappeared in Hanoi in 1968, this game takes place in 1970.

This game is emphasising on the tragety of Big Boss.

One of the lines in the trailer says to Big Boss to think about all that he has lost, why does the United States deserve so much of his loyalty?

Losing the woman he loved EVA, his mentor the Boss, his friends such as Major Zero, and the Patriots and the government in general, not giving a damn about it would give Big Boss more motives to start up Outer Heaven.

She did? Damn, I need my memory checked. Sorry, I thought it was few few years after 1968 that she dissappeared.

Well in that case she may well die then. That'd be a nice scene to see... god all of this on PSP... just seems to important to the MG saga... I cannot wait.

Now, I just need the PSP to price-drop and I'll get this game.

I'm still confused as to how the game will work. Will it be proper MGS gameplay, only that you can switch characters in the battle field anytime you like?

It's proper MGS gameplay... Where I assume you can be either Big Boss, Ocelot, or Eva... then there is an additional troop aspect where you build an army.

it kind of looks you have your whole or chosen team with you on screen, and you tell them what to do, and you also can switch who you are controlling

Like, you are Big Boss... and you choose a few soldiers and Ocelot to come with you.. You go through, tell other characters to follow or hide or whatever, then if need be, switch to ocelot to move or kill someone, then back to big boss... and if some soldiers die, they die. The whole non-continue thing.

So, Normal MGS gameplay, but with more than one character.

I think that it is a combination of traditional Metal Gear Solid gameplay combined with the gameplay of Ghost Recon, that's the way I've interpreted it.

Screw PSP. They need to remake Metal Gear 1 and 2 for the PS2 console. I'm surprised this hasnt been done already

If they do remake Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2, I bet that they'll do it on the Playstation Portable instead of the Playstation 2 :o

why cant they do it for both?

Because the Playstation 2 will be obsolete soon while the Playstation 3 will have at least 5 years of life in it.

The Playstation Portable also has a decent life span remaining in it.

I think EVA is Sniper Wolf? They look similar, and wear their shirts the same

Oh god, I'd forgotten how bad the modelling in Twin Snakes is, thanks for reminding me. :(

Personally, I'm more excited for MGS4 than Portable Ops. I mean I'm looking forward to both, but MGS4 is going to be amazing, and I feel like Portable Ops is more of a side story itteration with wacky mechanics for commanding a squad etc.

Sitll Portable Ops means I'll have to get a PSP...:o

Side note; I LOVE that they're doing the Portable Ops cutscenes using the MG Digital Comic style, absolutely love it. I'll be picking up the digital comic for the PSP at some point, it's the first time ever that I've seen a digital artificially 'animated' comic work. Marvel has released a few, but MGS has not only surpassed anything anyone has ever put out before in the medium of digital comics, but they've set a brand new standard for them in the process.

They should remake it for PS3, i dunno and i dont care, they should just remake the first two for a next gen console.

MGS didnt really need to be remade, since it was 3D and interactive, unlike the first two games. People will get a better insight into guys like Gray Fox and Big Boss, and Master Miller. Plus, since MGS4 is the last, we can have a new metal gear game with solid as the lead and not ruin MGS4.
