So i have twoexams tomorrow, been studying for past week and a half, and the teacher gave us new material on monday, so im going to pull an all nighter to review everything and write my cheat sheets.

have any of you guys had to pull an all nighter either at the job or at school?

I work 7:30pm to 7:30am...does that count?

I've not even heard of which you speak. You must have the hardest life evers, lolz!

I don't think all nighters are a good idea. Your brain will work better rested even if it's just a few hours.

yea all nighters are ******ed. yea that teacher always telling you to get a good nights sleep? he/she was right. it was shown in a study that people had to read a few pages of notes and then they would be tested on them. part of them were tested right afterwards, another part tested 6 hours later, and another tested 12 hours later with a nights sleep. turns out, right after, people were in essence, guessing getting a 50/50 chance at passing/failing, 6 hours was a small improvement, but the 12 hour group improved up to 75% across the boards.

by the by i have no source, but it was in sciencenews a couple weeks back.

edit: you cheat? man thats pathetic. like worse than pathetic. you are a parasite/leech stuck on society.

I never did an all nighter right before an exam. Now if I had a project due the next day, that's a different story. Been there and done that...but never for a test or exam. What's the benefit of that?

I've done over a dozen since coming to college, always to work on projects. During my first quarter here, I stayed up for 3 days straight, which was stupid, because I wasn't actually productive after 2.

As other posters have said, it's better to get sleep than to study.

You're brain will be drained come test time.

And, yeah, pulled a few for work. :down

All-Nighters are the stupidest study method. Period.

Crashing's okay, like an hour before the test. And studying before you sleep. But make sure to get some rest, it's really key in storing the information and resting the brain.

Crashing an hour before the test is like a guarantee to sleep through it.
