Dear Superhero Hype!

Me and my brother just went up to our United Artist/Regal theater to get our Punisher: War Zone tickets. Well, the manager told us that they were just told that the midnight showing was canceled for mostly all UA/Regal Theaters! Now this theater knows me and my brother because for almost every midnight movie we always get dressed up in costume for that particular movie and get the crowds going. The theater has such a great spirit and we were deeply saddened to hear this news, because we were ready for it. So what I'm asking yall is if you could please comment to the following "Contact Us" link, so that everyone can plea to have this midnight premiere reinstated.

Thank You,

I was hoping that one of the theaters in my town would have a midnight showing, but I doubt that its going to.

That's a bad sign. Ticket sales must have been very low.

I would figure that they wouldnt be that high, I mean we all know its no Spiderman, TDK or Iron Man.

But the fact that they scheduled one in the first place meant they had high hopes.

Ive seen some midnight showings still open up with hardly any ticket sales.

They did midnight showings for Snakes on a Plane and that was a bomb.

HAHA Whenever I hear the name of that movie I think back to when I was subjected to watching it at a friends house, one of the worst films ever made lol.

I never saw it and I don't plan to. :down:word:

Sounds like it is a theater issue, not anything to do with the film. More likely they dont want to pay overtime given the current economy.

The theater said they never loose money on midnights, even if there is only a few people attending.

Well, see if there are any other Midnight screenings this Thursday, or if it is just related to this showing. If it's just for P:WZ, then we should be curious. I'm still thinking it may just be the theater chain being cheap. Given my experience with UA/Regal Cinemas, it's more likely leaning toward that.

As long as it's showing the next day, that is all you should really be worried about.

They said the company decided this because of poor ticket pre-sales, but they said when Hitch came out it didn't have hardly any pre-sales, but it got a midnight same with Ray and several other midnights.

Be fair now, that movie was purposefully cheesy and meant to be more of a comedy.

I would never buy it and would never care to watch it a second time but I must admit it's a great modern film that you can watch with a good group of friends to do your own MST3000 with.

I need to check with local theatre and see if they were even having a midnight show to begin with.

I recently got my gf and two sisters pumped for this film, but don't know if I can drag them to a midnight showing yet.

I think it won't affect it's box office take, just go watch it on Friday.

Figs awesome avatar by the way, great actor and movie.

Sounds like they are pulling your leg. Are other films having a midnight showing?

So far the reviews that have been posting online are mostly positive so I disagree with Figs that it will be MST3K (love that show by the way) type movie. But I do agree that it will be funner to watch it as a group which I will opening day!

He was taking about Snakes on a Plane, not Punisher: War Zone.

Yeah, if the new Punisher was as bad as Snakes On a Plane that would be something to worry about.

I think the route they went in terms of humour for War Zone sounds perfect. Reminiscent of classics like Commando, where Arnold cuts the top of a guys head off by throwing a buzzsaw.

To where your laughing at it not because it's that bad but because it's a bit silly but you still recognize it as being badass!

I think back to when I pranked people with the Samuel L. Jackson phonecalls. Man that was awesome. I wish they would do something like that again.
