I like Wendell, but I thought his death was kind of cool. I'm not a big fan of Phylla. I wouldn't mind seeing him back but I agree with the other poster who said I think it may be to soon. And I for one liked the 80's series also
Well, for me personally, Wendell is one of my favorite heroes. The '89 series was great. Gruenwald really set up issues 1-25. They were fantastic.
I have a few problems with Wendell's "death". I don't think they really wrote it to be typical Wendell MO. I mean, he did't contact Epoch. And he went in guns a blazin'. Wendell never does that. Well, you could argue there wasn't enough time. What would it take to contact epoch? -- a couple seconds? Ehh.
My number one problem is the way the cosmic control rod effected the q-bands. Wouldn't the Protector of the whole gal darn Universe know that? Or his 6 billion year old mentor's offspring? Considering that Eon first contacted Captain Marvel
in the negative zone when he was appointed I think Wendell/Epoch should be aware of the effects of the cosmic control rod/negative zone would have on his bands.
Anyway! While Annihilation was going on Andy Schmidt, editor at the time, was answering questions at CBR and low and behold a bunch of Quasar fans showed up. We got together and now want Wendell back.
I know Wendell may not be the most popular but you may be able to sympathize with our campaign if you are a Cap fan or Spidey fan. Heck, even a mutant fan.
Oh, yes, for those interested watch for Wendell in the Nova Annual to hit stands Feb 13th!
