Question about Phoenix's fate

SPOILERS AHEAD.

OK. Great movie.

It broke my heart to see Charles levitating with a smile on his face knowing what was going to happen, and still, his last words were pieces of guidance for Jean.

I shed a couple of tears. I'm like that.

I cried when Jean 'died' in X2 too, and seeing Cyclops and Wolverine's reaction.

Anyway, when Wolverine stabbed Jean to death in this movie, and Logan was holding her body and screaming to the horizon nnnOOOOOOO!!! my eyes started getting watery again and a couple of tears started streaming down my face....

And all of a sudden my girlfriend says something that not only DESTROYS the moment, but almost ruined the entire movie for me.... . . . . :

because he didn't have a needle at hand, nor did he had time to find one. jean surpressed phoenix just enough to give wolverine time to do what he needed to do.

if 5 cure darts dont work 100% on a level 3 mutant (magneto) then how could one dart affect a level 5 (or even higher limitlessly powerfully mutant)
