Question about the fantasy elements in 300

I have a question the story of 300. Was it suppose to have fantasy elements in it's story? I keep seeing things like this, but was not sure:

i know who is the first one ment to be i know the second one is the one who betrays the spaertans and give the king leoniedes (sp) the scare on his eye but i have no idea whot he first is

1st One = Ubber Immortal , is a big freak immortal who's going to " have some words " with Leonidas

2nd One = Ephialtes , trys to get in the Spartan army , Leonidas says he would ruin the phalanx , he doesn't take it very well ........ Ultimately he sells himself to Xerxes

I dont really take these things as Fantasy, but more fantastic and visual. For all the Monstricities displayed in 300, none of them are really that far off from reality. Armies usually had a couple freaks in the ranks to intimidate their enemies, note David and Goliath.
