Looks like they're serious about the 300 follow up.

Not so sure about this, I think if 300 had been more historically accurate, then a follow-up would have been easier to do, but with the way the 300 story was told in the movie, i'm not so sure a sequel should be made. Guess we'll see.

But, like the IAL prequel, i think this is just a cash in from WB.

Total cash-in. I really liked 300, but this is just unnecessary. I'll still watch it though, which I guess is all that matters to the studio.

Making a sequel for 300 is just dumb. :down

I hated 300 so I'm pretty sure that I'm going to hate it's sequel. Even if I liked 300 this would still be a bad idea to me.

Dont see the point in a sequel at all, total cash in, WB really need to sort themselves out.

Definitely a cash in, but you never know, might be good? Hope so, like the idea of Miller writing the sequel of 300 in graphic novel form and Snyder not having any input and letting Miller just use his own imagination. Not a horrible choice, but a bad idea for a movie.

Artistic integrity flies out the window. There's no need for this film.

I agree.

It's really down to whether they get the right people involved and they go in the good direction.

From my perspective they have two options. A prequel with Leonidas or a sequel about the Battle of Artemisium. Eurybiades, the leader of the Greek naval fleet, would make a fine Leonidas replacement.

It could be good, but the only reason they are making it is money, so the thing that is driving them doesnt fill me confidence that this will be good.

If Watchmen tanks and The Spirit is as laughable as it looks, things may change.

Really? I mean...dont get me wrong. Watchmen is one of the best novels Ive ever read. I freaking love it. However, Im not exactly sold on the idea that the general public will "get it" as a movie.

Wonder what it'll be called?

301 Spartans? :D

They'll take it as the most mature, cleverly plotted (If everything's like the book), comic book movie yet.

At least that's what I'm hoping they will think of it :oldrazz: I'm not worried about Box Office, because the sudden great interest in the book after the trailer was released proves that all should be well.

Frank Miller could probably whip up a 300 sequel in about 10 minutes if he wanted to. It's not like his writing is any good nowadays anyway.

It's confirmed the story will be about buff manly He-men Spartans that brutally conquer stereotyped villains using the power of slow-mo and one liners. Wait, that sounds kinda familiar.

^Seems everyone is, personally, I dont think a sequel can have the impact the first movie did, simply because of the story they want to tell.

Well I totally disagree! Why not do a another one, 300 was great. There's other stories that can be told about the Spartans.

From what I understand this one will take place after Leonidas death and before the next encounter with Xerxes?

I don't know much about Spartan history, were there other battles before they fought Xerxes again?

The war after the battle of thermopylae (which 300 was, loosely, based on) lasted for a year at least, so they could show that, but the character's involved were not like the 300 chosen for the battle.
