Question on Asgard's portrayal in the movie...

    In the movie, the 9 realms, at least Earth and Jottunheim, are planets. So why is Asgard a giant floating....galaxy thing? Why isn't it a planet too?

    Because Asgard is not meant to be planetin the film, it's an extra dimensional city on a floating continent.

    I see it as being a huge city that broke off of a planet millenniums ago.

    It exists on a small planetoid or fragment.
