Hi Film makers....

1. Does anyone know of an opensource version or freeware version of a Previsualisaiton software similar to frame forge 3d?

2. Anyone know of any freeware/opensource fx software for doing particle effects like smoke, lazers, explosions etc?

I am working on a "low-budget" which has turned into a "no budget flick" and am needing some basic tools as most of our money went on our fancy HD camera and Computer...

2. There is no effects freeware lol. You want to do digital effects you have to pay for it.

Ok so freeware previs software....thats a shame, I was after animated "Animatic" not static story boards.....

Adobe After effects is the thing you want i use it all the time

2. http://www.blender.org/. Blender is an opensource 3D suite. It has Particle effects. That said, like most powerful suites, you aren't going to be able to make it look good off the bat. How much experience do you have with this kind of stuff?

I've never understood why anybody felt the need for this. Unless you are doing insane comp controlled camera work for compositing, why do you need your previs to move?

I know for a fact you can do explosions,smoke, and lazer effects in Adobe after effects, you can torrent download it.

just download azerus torrent dwnloader, search for after effects and download it.

and if your looking for a 3d program theres Milk shape 3d or Maya that you can get off torrents as well.
