To anyone that has them, can you show me a picture of you wearing one, but over a winter coat? Like a sort of thin one? I'm considering a costume for a movie, but I dont want the skin tight look, I'd pefer a more natural shirt look...but I cannot get that design with a coat, or a shirt. Only with the lycra.

Thanks a bunch.

Okay, as forum moderator, I guess it falls to me to speak up here (since no one else will).

Your concept sounds stupid, bro.

Perhaps. But show me first. I want to see it.

Because they only make one kind of Deadpool costume, and I wouldnt put that in any movie...of any kind. Now, if one could make it look puffy.....

But I need to see it.

If I showed you a pic of ME wearing Lycra you wouldn't survive the experience. :whatever: Trust me dude.

LOL.....will, if you can wear a shirt underneith it.....:awesome:

But my whole point is to have the lycra look less skin tight.

the reason you haven't see it is because it completely goes against what lycra is for.

Lyrca suits are SUPPOSED to be tight. And if you wore a "winter jacket" under it, it really, really would look awful...like lycra over a winter coat...

I would suggest forgetting lyrca and going for an actual shirt. Go to a sports store and look at their long sleeved shirts, that's probably the best you're going to do.

Is the problem that you just don't like the look of it? Don't have the body for it? Or just plain don't wanna wear it? I cosplay a lot and yes I wear lycra and I'm not ashamed!! LOL! This may be something you have to piece together yourself if you don't wanna go lycra.

C'mon...one of you cosplayers HAS to have one...

I think there are some craig list ads or some newspaper personals that you can reference if you need your fetish fulfilled.

But this is probably what i'll have to do.

Why don't you just go with the lycra shirt and match it up with some pants like bdu's? If you go with the DP hardware on the upper body it won't matter how tight the shirt is anyway.

I second going to a sports store for an actual shirt. Though, I don't quite think Deadpool or any other superhero/villian is really realistic.... ;)

^ I know..lol. But I'd rather have a more realistic costume, more home made. I'm not a big fan film fan, but since the DP movie is dead, and I really want to see one...I gotta do it myself. I want the costume to look out of place in our world, but I want it to look very rough and home made.

Like he was just really bored one day watching The Golden Girls and he decided to make a costume. lol.

well, what exactly are you trying to do? what character is it?

for someone like deadpool, half the reason fan made costumes suck is due not to poor quality materials, but to lack of imagination. As the image you posted points out, simply tossing on some colored spandex isn't enough in real life (look at spider-man, even they added some stuff).

Any costume designer will tell you that one of the most important parts of designing a costume is thinking of the character - they're history, where they got the parts of their suit, what does their suit need to accomplish, etc (ie: for deadpool, he uses alot of weapons, and needs palces to hold extra clips and firearms, etc, so look at military and swat garb for inspiration).

Think about those things, and figure out how to answer those questions visually, and I promise you, figuring out how to get over the lycra issue will be very simple.

^ I know. That's exacly what I am doing. I dont want to use the lycra. But, it's the only one with that certian design. So I want to mix and match. Half lycra, half Kaki pants. Or something along those lines.

I really want to show how incredibly messed up this guy is. What would make him wear this outfit? It's incredibly out of place. It's bright, red, and obtrusive. Why does he wear it then? Because he can. Because he likes the way it looks on him.

And the only thing that has that certian look, is still the lycra. And I cannot afford a jacket like that because I have a budget of less then 60 bucks. Yey! :hehe:

Lol, well, 60 bucks aint gonna get you much! But in terms of the "military" aspects all you really need to do is go to a pawn shop and grab some belts, pouches, etc. You can fake it pretty easily.

I'd go with kinda of a Punisher: Warzone look DP style. It's tactical and looked pretty cool!

Well, I do already have a ton of "stuff". Just junky sports stuff that, if used correctly, can easily pull off that "tatical" look.

But yes, I could pick up those cheap pouches and what not.

But what aboot the lycra. lol.

Can anyone just post a picture of that? A semi thick shirt, or sweater with a lycra over it? I just need to see that.

i don't think anybody wants to take the time to do it because its gonna look like ass.

Try this: go to walmart and buy a really small t shirt (can get em for no more than 5 bucks). Then put on a jacket, and put the t shirt on over it.

It might look like ass. I'm just not sure how to do this costume for cheap. I came up with one a while back....looked alright, but didnt quite have that DP feel. I guess i'll keep looking then....ehhh..

exactly. Either forget putting something underneath the lycra, or find some other alternative for a top. Mr. Terrific's idea isn't bad. Good luck!

Here's something I whipped up in PS....not all of it will probably be accurate...but it's a concept look of what it could be....
