My progression with airbrushing:

This is my second one that i ever attempted, i was happy with it but not satisfied. The first one isnt even worth posting lol, it was horrible! Anyway the one after this one is my third attempt, each one getting progessively better (IMO)

P.S. In case your living on another planet, the below are brushings of Brandon Routh

I still have to finish this, do the ears and make some adjustments aswell as as a half body to it.

those routh airbrushings are pretty cool

yes i did just use the photo's hair, i know kind of a cheap way out after all the time of working on it, but i am not done. I wanted to show a more completed version rather than post another thing with just a few more pieces done. I am working on the hair, its the most difficult part, if i can't get it than i'll just leave it, and be happy that i did 99 percent of it lol.

Great rendering skills! With a few months to a year or so of practice, and your work will look like it was rendered in MAYA!!

Thanks alot i really appreciate it honestly. I do this to show it to people and w/o feedback i wouldn't even bother. I am currently in school for graphic design although now in the 3rd week i haven't learned too much lol. We are on the basics of photoshop which i already know unfortunately. I did learn 2 new things though, but anyway considering this is my 3rd airbrushing i'd say hopefully my progression will only yield better results. Thanks for your interest and support.

hey quick question....i want to go into school for graphic design too. how many years do you have to go and what kind of school would you go to? i know this is what i want to do, so just asking. any help appreciated.

and your airbrushings are awesome.

I am not the expert on this, i can only offer you advice on what i am doing. AFter H.S. i decided to work, i hated HS and didn't want to jump into a college. Well after some time i decided it was time for a change so i began to look into schools. I knew i didn't want to goto school for 4 years or goto county, although my county college is one of the best in the country. So i looked into technical schools. I found the Chubb (high tech institute) Institute of computer technologies. One year course. At the end i get a diploma and if i decide to i can finish the course with an associates online for additional money.

You may say to yourself well i don't want a diploma i want a degree etc, and yes i do too but in this field your work speaks for itself, if your going into a managerial position for say an ad agency than maybe a business degree would help, but for the most part, doing logos, websites etc your digital portfolio is all that you have.

Anyway i am 22 years old, been at this school for 3 weeks, first 2 weeks were basic composition, layout, understanding placement, looking at past methods of graphic design etc. This week are the basics of photoshop, than illustrator, than advanced photoshop/illustrator. The course also includes 3D Animation with 3D Studio Max and maya, flash, html and website building. Aswell as a whole host of programs.

Honeslty i am not super impressed yet, i guess because i already know alot, but i hope to learn alot more when it comes to the 3D portion.

As for how many years, it depends on the school, county colleges offer courses for 2 years or you can goto a highly acredited school for 4, depends on your area. Or find a technical school that cuts right to the chase, no bull**** courses like philosophy or math or science etc.

We will see where this takes me, good luck in your journey and feel free to PM me for any other info.

Dude, I don't like 98% of the fan art I see on here, but your stuff if good. Makes me wish I'd stopped freehanding it years ago. It's honestly the first CG fan art I've ever seen that didn't make me wretch. And that's a good thing.

I haven't done any posters in a while, nothing too inspiring i guess, i'll see if i can get my creative juices flowing for some new ones. In the mean time i've been keeping myself busy doing my first vector image of a car. Here is is so far, comments welcome:
