So it seems that my second playstation 2 has been killed.

My mum kicked it by an accident.

DAMN YOU!

I think I will be definetely getting a Xbox 360 VERY soon. :cmad:

It died with a bit of a kick?! I've had my PS2 since launch, and I've done everything short of repeatedly bash it against a wall. Still works a treat. Knowing my luck, it will die as soon as I buy FFXII. :P

Edit: Fixed the millions of mistakes I made in my post. Bloody idiot.

It was its time. A sign from above.

Well it was abit of a kick, it's sustained more than that in the past though.

This is my second PS2 as well :(

I thought this was a thread announcing that Sony wasn't going to be doing anymore games for it. I killed my PS2 when I tried to solder a mod chip in. Fried it so then I just bought one with a chip already in.

^

Can't you just get cartridges that 'chip' your PS2? They seem like the easier option.

On a brighter note, I got Counter-strike to work on my computer :D

Not a cartridge per se, but you can buy swap magic, which I looked into and found it isn't as reliable as actually having it chipped.

I feel your pain. My Genesis had its final hurrah a few weeks ago.

Swap Magic would have cost you $30 and little risk of messing up your PS2. Putting a chip in and messing it up, well the cost is $130, or whatever the cost would have been when yours died.

Then might I make a suggestion...?:woot:

You were only on your second one? I have my forth :o

I'm quite happy with having a modded PS2 that works 100% of the time. Swap Magic is not 100% with games

I tend to share my experiences with my PS2 like I would my best friend.

I've taken him down the pub, shared a few good pints.

at one point we got closer than friends, and we've shared showers and a bed. ;)

I stopped buying them after my second :\

You shouldn't have to think :O

wow. that is cool. Well hopefully I'll have an XBOX 360 and live in a months time.

That is quite alot of SHH posters. :)

Currently on my second. What happend to my first was that, I was playing while going online at the same time, and wasn't paying attention at all to my PS2. I was pulling an all nighter that night. And I turned it on around 5 p.m. that afternoon before doing so. So around 5 o clock in the morning, I turned around from my desk, to unpause the game, and while doing so, I saw small waves of smoke coming from the back of it. I touched the top of my PS2, and it was burning hot. Then, it wouldn't load any game I put in.

Lesson learned.
