I'm kinda tired of activley searching and selecting music to play in the background, so I have started searching for radio shows that can be streamed via internet. SHOUTcast has a great library but its almost too much to comprehend.

My question is -- and the purpose of this thread can be -- Do you have any good suggestions of radio shows over the internet? It can be any kind of music really, or talkshows and whatnot. And free.

New thread GO!

For tips for me personally, I listen to everything from Watain to Goldfrapp

I don't tend to listen to radio shows. When I'm listening to something it's usually music. That said, my July issue of "Ellery Queen Mystery Magazine" has an article by Bill Crider called "Blog Bytes" in which he recommends http://www.cbsrmt.com/ with 1,399 episodes of "CBS Radio Mystery Theater" for free.

Hmm, I tend to listen to individual podcasts. I assume you've tried Grooveshark? It has "radio stations" based on playlists for different music genres, eras, etc.

In the vein of fictional radio dramas, the best to me for years has been We're Alive: The Zombie Podcast, which is one of the best stories I've heard (it's like high-budget, great voice acting and sound effects, AND the plot and characters is great). The first season (12 hour-long chapters) was especially amazing.
