They didn't let us think it naturally, they tried to shove it down our throat and rushed it. All I'm saying.

I liked Lois' dick reference in MoS, I thought it was quite funny.

Oh right, I forgot MoS was a super serious film and had no humor whatsoever. :o

MOS had plenty of humor (it was just too subtle for some people). Lois has been a active strong character for the last 25 years or so, Adams also being that way is no surprise. Peter is going to mock Electro a lot in this movie (He's much easier to mock than the Lizard was).

I agree. With Lizard, he can call him stinky, ugly, gross, and so on. Electro can be called sparky, shocking, or anything related to electricity.

Connor's was Peter's friend and mentor. Peter also felt partially responsible for Connor's turning into the Lizard, so the joking was limited. Electro and Peter don't appear to have that kind of relationship and a blue guy is much easier to mock than your friend whose now a giant lizard creature.

This.

Can't he do that in the comics now? I haven't read SM on principle since One Mor Day). Webb did say that Electro had god-like powers.

Honestly, I don't know. I started reading 616 Spidey after Brand New Day came out (such as the New Ways to Die storyline), got sick of it, and began reading the classics.

Electro sounds like he is going to be a huge challenge for Spider-Man.

Godlike electrical powers, yeah that sounds problematic.

;)

So apparently Electro can move at the speed of light, and disappear into electric sockets. Hmm...

:csad:Ugh, why does everything has to be so overdone and extreme in movies these days? I was hoping they were going to keep it simple. Max Dillon, gets electric powers and can projectile blasts and all that, while remaining a guy in a suit not a freakish ethereal being. Yeah I know it is more boring but I always hated when villains dissolve into air and become pure energy. So lame.

I didn't like either what they did with Sandman in SM3 when he was floating up in the air of NY.

I wouldn't call it overdone and extreme. Apparently, Electro was able to disappear into Electrical sockets in the comic books. Its all about the execution. On paper, its hard to make anything of it.

I generally get the impression from people who say something like that they seem to mean they want the camp and the slapstick back. Essentially they just wanted to see the first Superman movie again. At least that's the impression they leave.

So you don't want a villain to be powerful and pose an actual threat to the hero, ok then?

Alex Spider (I haven't figured out how to directly respond to another post yet, new here, pleased to meet you Infernal).

Loki882 just press the "Quote" button on the right of the page of each post you want to respond to and that will do it.

Of course I want a villain to be powerful, I just prefer when they appear more humanized instead of dissolving into energy or sand and floating in the screen. That's just too much. And villains like the Joker, GG, Venom, Bane etc are posing a great threat and provide a great struggle to the hero without having ridiculous powers like those mentioned.

And in the end I don't want to watch the hero punching in the air trying to get a hit. I want a physical fight with tension and drama that involves two costumed men.

Well, advertising won't be so hard. :awesome:

i'm kind of hoping electro doing non-corporeal feats will require a lot of energy expenditure on his behalf, and he consequently won't do it too much.

otherwise, i tend to agree with alex spider.

but yeah, right now i can't help but think that travelling at the speed of light and through wall sockets will only be possible when electro is at full power.

This.

Now admittedly, Electro had had those abilities (lightning speed and non corporal feats) in the comics (616).

However, he had always been at, or beyond, the peak of his power levels at that time.

Like during The Gauntlet storyline, he gained the ability to travel through electrical sockets and power lines, and, similar to what Webb described, his touch was 100% lethal.

So, I don't mind him having those abilities, but I want him to be at the peak of his power when doing such things.
