He's a theater actor right? This is his movie debut?

2009) He acted in William Shakespeare's play, "Macbeth," at the Shakespeare Theatre of New Jersey in Madison, New Jersey at Drew University with Pressly Coker, Liz Bresnak-Arata and Natalie Paul in the cast.

(Fall, 2013) Starring as Muhammad Ali in the off-Broadway stage drama "Fetch Clay, Make Man" by Will Powers at New York Theater Workshop, New York City.

Yep

If he has the charisma to play Ali, then I'm very confident in his ability to play Cyborg.

We haven't seen his acting but there is no denying a great look, and Snyder obviously knew he had something right away with him to bring him on board so early.

It's really cool for him to have been a struggling actor to having an opportunity where he is in BvS (small cameo but still cool), JL movies, and looks like he will have a solo film.

That's like hitting the lottery :D

Thanks for the info!

He'll probably need some time to get used to the acting in front of the camera. And also acting in films is a bit more toned down than in theater, though I'm sure he won't have any problems.

And I really can't think of anyone who'd look better for the part. It's like he jumped from the pages.

The trailer for his play "Fetch Clay, Make Man"

If he could get the voice down better, he is easily more believable visually as a young Ali than Will Smith was :o

"Fetch Clay, Make Man?"

So Cyborg is getting a pre-New 52 Wonder Woman origin. :woot:

Anyway, I saw this trailer before, seems interesting.

As I said theater acting is more loud and explosive. He just needs to learn to tone down a bit and he'll be fine.

By the way, how come there's no Cyborg costume thread? :woot:

I was wondering how his acting was received since all we know about him is that he is a theater actor. I mean, there are bad theater actors as well. So I decided to read all the reviews for the play. Glad to report, his performance has been received very well by basically every single reviewer

Ah, that's a word I was looking for.

I haven't slept all day, cut me some slack! :argh: :woot:

Maybe it's just me, but I think a Cyborg movie has the potential to be really cool, especially after we've already gotten to know the character a bit.

I read he was up for the male lead in Episode VII that ended up going to John Boyega. It seems he was headed to stardom regardless.

I wasn't expecting Cyborg to get a solo but I'm very happy he is.

I'd love if the Cyborg solo movie brought in Nightwing, Starfire, Raven and Beast Boy. Deathstroke (previously introduced in Suicide Squad) could be the villain

I think Fisher is going to pull off the comedic timing of Cyborg well, provided they maintain similar humor from "Teen Titans." And yes, he's a perfect match -- physically-- for it.

Seems like Fisher's casting has gone down a lot better than say, Gadot, or Ezra Miller.

He definitely has Muhammad Ali down in that short Vine clip. Interesting; if Will Smith winds up starring in Suicide Squad, then we'll have two actors who played Ali in DC movies.
