The Official Cyborg (Summer 2020) Thread

I don't feel anything about it but indifference. Like I thought Cyborg was okay in the movie. But I never wanted a solo film for him. I thought his inclusion in JL and a confirmation of a solo movie were odd to begin with.

I felt like movies for Wonder Woman, Aquaman, the Justice League and the Flash were overdue especially we have gotten movies for Superman and Batman before the 2000s and Marvel movies became a thing since the new millennium. But a Cyborg movie just didnt feel like a must have. And if there are going to be lesser known Dc characters that should get a movie one, I would pick Martian, Zatanna, Hawkgirl and Green Arrow not Cyborg.

I really want to so say outside of Fisher, who really wanted to see this movie more than a Green Lantern, or most other DC movies. However, one could have said that about Ant-Man and we got a gem with that one but Ant-Man didn't have previous outings like Cyborg did in JL.

I think the biggest problem with DC is them trying to "flood" their CW, DC Streaming and movies with their characters. I think a Titans movie could have done well, but you already having Cyborg in the Doom Patrol/Titans on their streaming service.

^^^ Exactly. I know that the New 52 placed him in the League but he always felt out of place there to me. He belongs with the Titans. And yes, okay character but I have zero interest in seeing a film centred on him.

I would have much preferred Martian Manhunter in JL, but I thought Fisher brought a lot of heart and tragedy to character in JL and he ended up being one of the movie’s best surprises. I wouldn’t have been salivating at the mouth for the Solo movie but if they had made it I more than likely would have seen it at the cinema.

Apparently in a recent Twitch stream, Ray Fisher is still optimistic that a Cyborg solo film could still happen and also Ezra Miller's Flash in Crisis on Infinite Earths specifically name dropped Victor who is Ray's character and apparently Ray could still cameo in Flash's solo film especially if they base it off Flashpoint

Wow, that is optimistic! :funny: I'd be very surprised. If Miller's Flash film ever gets made then maybe a cameo in that. Tbh though, I don't think so. Unless they plan on doing something else with this version of Cyborg further down the line (which as I say, I don't think will happen) I don't see any point in it.

I do hope Fisher gets to come back as the character at some point but am firmly in 'wait and see' mode for that one.
