In X-Men:First Class, Emma Frost was featured prominently although being previously seen in X-Men Origins:Wolverine and they are likely going to do that to Deadpool too. Now my question is with a popular character like Gambit and when future installments of the trilogy, would you mind the creators doing a different Gambit(actor, backstory, personality, etc.)?

Compare to Emma frost's role in XOW, Gambit had a supporting role in the movie while Emma Frost's role in the movie was just a minor role and they didn't mention her name as Emma Frost unlike with Gambit.

I want FOX to use Gambit again but they don't have to ignore the fact that he already met Wolverine in the past. They could include him X4 and I don't think it would be that hard to explain that he already met Wolverine before. As for the First Class films, I don't think he would fit in, so he's better off with the cast of the original trilogy.

Yeah, you'd kind of expect Gambit to have had some kind of run in with Wolverine (even if he hadn't). I didn't really think that guy was all that bad.

if Taylor had a cajun accent and the black eyes all the time, I think his role would have been more memorable. In a similar way than Kurt on X2.

And since Singer did a good job with Alan/Kurt, Im sure he could do something really interesting and cool with Taylor/Gambit.

its about taking care of the script and the character, both the dialogue and look.

I wonder why Nightcrawler/Mystique/Sabretooth got to wear contact lens but not Gambit and Storm. I don't think they would have looked crazy if the color of their eyes are different, like hello they are mutants.

Im cool with them switching things up so he can actually interact with other X men. Actor wise I didnt mind Kitsch, if they can find a way to make him work Id say let him keep playing the role.

They should have them!

I wouldn't mind a different Gambit. Not that Kitsch was bad in the role, but I would have liked him to be based more on the comic book version. If Wolverine hadn't called him by name, I think a lot of people, including me, would not thought this was a different character. The only thing Origins Gambit and the one we know and love had in common was the cards, otherwise all of his iconic traits/look (red and black eyes, tan trenchcoat, Cajun accent, kinetic energy power set) were not there.

I would, for example, love to see someone like Josh Holloway in a cameo in DOFP as an older Gambit in the future scenes with all those classic characteristics in place. Or a complete reboot or a solo film with Gambit played by someone completely different or even Kitsch again, but incorporates his comic book persona.

I think Taylor Kitsch can return as Gambit in DOFP b/c Gambit is one of those mutants that ages gradually like Mystique. Gambit is alive during Bishops time period 200 years in the future.

If Gambit is brought back in a future x-men film I would like to see him with those iconic traits from the comics too. I was so surprised they couldn't even give him red pupils in XO: Wolverine.:down

Origins almost ruined the character. But at least Taylor played a badass Remy, even if the look wasnt the pefect look

Don't forget about the stick. It was very Gambit.

Is this true? Then they can definitely keep Taylor Kitsch and have him work with the cast of the original trilogy. His age wouldn't be an issue if he ages slowly too. My only worry about Taylor Kitsch, some of his latest movies flopped.

If they get a different older actor to play Gambit, or get Taylor Kitsch back as Gambit, I wouldn't care at all. As long as he has his light body armour, trench coat, and Red/black eyes I think he would be awesome! They don't even have to explain his new loom and why his eyes are red and black the entire time, its the future s**t happens!!

I don't think Kitsch can do a Cajun accent, so I would say he should just keep his country accent then do a bad Cajun one. If a new actor is hired I would say that it would be compulsory for that actor to master a Cajun accent, since people wouldn't be familiar with him in that role.

Taylor could do a cajun accent if he works hard, as any decent actor that has worked with an accent on movie history. The hardest you work on the accent, the better job you will do
