If someone says "the Wii can't touch the PS3 by a longshot in that department" and then someone else says "Or the Xbox360", it's a bit open to interpretation...

No, they would (or should, anyways) say "Neither can the Xbox 360".

Try saying "the Wii can't touch the PS3 by a longshot in that department," pause, then "Or the Xbox360". Tell me if that sounds right to you, because it sure doesn't to me.
