Real Life Purge

This weekend could possibly see a real-life version of the popular film The Purge being carried out by people seeking to emulate the movie. Details have emerged about the threat of a real scenario based on the film, and there have multiple fliers threatening purges around the country as well. The so-called Louisville, KY purge is scheduled to begin this Friday night and continue until Saturday morning. This is according to fliers that have been posted at various locations around Louisville. The rumors began on social media, specifically Twitter, with the threats flying around the site, which is most popular with teens. Police quickly took notice and, while they hold out hope that the whole thing is a prank, they say the promise of a real-life purge is no laughing matter.

But it's true. America is the "bastion" nation of the western/free world i.e. 1st world country and yet it's a nation rife and riddled with some of the most insane and monumentally obtuse activity and behaviour. A bunch of fools trying to copy a ridiculous plot point from a movie just goes to show the level of stupidity in what's supposed to be a forward thinking society. Sure, like everywhere else in the world I'm not speaking about ALL Americans, although, one couldn't be blamed for believing otherwise seeing as Obama's predecessor was not only elected but served the full extent of his terms but my generalised point still stands. Fair enough and I apologize for lashing out. I'm just tired of the stupidity of America representing all of us to the rest of the world. Our media always likes to show the worst it and gets around and blows up everywhere. Let's be honest, this was probably happening a lot in the past, but now the global media broadcasts it to everyone.

I do have to admit we are nation that gets held back by backwards thinking and stubborn people holding on not only antiquated notions, but completely dead ones. That's all I'll say on that.

At the same time, let's not act like America is the only first world country with huge problems and act stupid. Turning this thread into an anti-American thread is extreme generalization and frankly, very unnecessary. America didn't invent stupidity, and stupidity is not only linked to America and third world countries so let's not make this thread into a pissing contest of nations.
