what do you mean "we have the actors"? We only know that Andrew Garfield is playing Spiderman

Maybe they'll use more modern music to get the tweens in? If Webb is as good at choosing music for Spidey as he was with "500 days of Summer", I suppose I could live with that.

I think it will be someone Mark Webb has worked with before and knows. That's not neccessarily who I want, but that's what I think will happen. In a perfect world I would like to hear what a Spiderman theme by John Williams would sound like. That man has a knack for creating memorable music, and he already has a Spiderman theme to work with. John Williams would knock it out of the park, but I think we will get a solid double so to speak with a composer of Mark Webbs choice.

Jaws, Star Wars, Indiana Jones, (and I think Jurassic Park too) make him a legend alone.

Hanz Zimmer, James Newton Howard or John Williams. But if they would go for more modern music like Webb did with 500 Days Of Summer I'm fine with that.

David Newman, David Arnold, Graeme Revell? It's hard for me to say because if you loved the movie as much as I did, Danny Elfman's score is a huge part of what the Spider-Man experience is to me. I love his music and how it combines the otherworldly, Steve-Ditko-ish weird fun of being spider-man and the honest soul of peter parker.

I guess if they hire a composer, I guess I would only hope that he can make this film feel both fun and truly honest.

they havent rebooted superman so of course it hasnt changed yet....
I say do somethin new or else your gonna confuse some morons...

They make new spiderman music or they use old spiderman theme?
Because Superman theme is always same and never changes

I personally would not mind a mix between old and new themes.

:awesome:

I'd actually bring John Ottman on. His FF score was still the best thing about that flick.

I think it would be awesome if Trent Reznor of Nine Inch Nails gave it a shot...but maybe that's just because I'm a huge NIN fan lol. I'm really anxious to hear what he's come up with for The Social Network (maybe Garfield can set up a meeting between him and Webb :cwink:).

If anything I'd love to see Steve Jablonsky take a crack at it. Pure genius.

And if not him then Jack Wall and Two Steps from Hell, the guys that did the Mass Effect soundtrack.

Great picks. Both have an epic and moving feel to them, that can switch to heart felt music on a dime. Steve Jablonsky would be ideal. I wonder what would come from both of them working on a score. Let Jablonsky handle the main theme and hero/feel good guy stuff and let Jack Wall handle the villain and battle scenes. Either way, I want something that sounds like no other comic book film, no more regurgitated Danny Elfman music, please.

James Horner is a good idea. As long as we don't get Elfman again. His stuff all sounds the same and all very uninspired.

I remember reading when Ang Lee had to work with him on HULK. Lee pissed him off because he basically told him that the score sounds the same as everything else he's done. He made Elfman redo it like 3 times before he got the one we have now.

I's personally like to hear a decent film soundtrack for a superhero movie, like watchmen, while some of the cue's were a little off, i loved all of the classic rock songs. i want score as well, but i want Webb to utilize his talents, and (500) Days of Summer proved that setting atmosphere through music accompaniment was one of his skills. I'd love to hear the ramones cover of the spiderman song.

Firstly. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=glsyYJksGtg

And Ang Lee loved Danny Elfman and vice versa, Ang said so in the commentary and even hired Elfman to score a later film Taking Woodstock.

I hate that it's popular to hate on Elfman these days. He has a similar style but every single composer does. Elfman is seen as one of the more experimental film composers. And to hate on Elfman and love James copy and paste notes Horner is pure hypocrisy. The evidence is all over youtube.

^^ Agreed. Pesonally, I think Elfman is an amazing composer. He can do weird stuff (in a good way) like themes for Edward ScissorHands, Bettlejuice, etc, but then also do action type stuff with Batman and Spider-Man. Just great overall.
