WW Composer Thread

Some parts of the soundtrack are kinda muted and don't make an impression and some parts of kick all kinds of booty. Does the job fine with some high points. I wish Gregson-Williams had followed up with that orchestral-type play on the main theme. Love No Man's Land and Wonder Woman's Wrath.

And finally I can listen to it in full on Spotify today.

I don't think this is such a great song. Could've done with something better and more memorable.

By traditional, he's referring to just straight orchestra. Can't say I disagree with him honestly. I don't like the electric guitar used for Wonder Woman specifically if I'm being honest.

It's an electric cello not an electric guitar.

The biggest problem I think is the poor spotting. The big emotional moments in the movie are left hanging without any payoff musically.

It is far from perfect, but there is a few nice moments peppered throughout the movie and of course, her theme song is glorious.

I still think Christopher Drake did a better job with 2009's Wonder Woman. Imagine what he could have created with a full orchestra.

Yep, I was thinking the same thing. I played Drake's score right after listening to Gregson-Williams and there really is no comparison, especially the end credits piece.

Yeah Drake really needs to get work for one of the big boy DC films.

His stuff in the TDKR animated film and Arkham Origins are among some of the best Batman themes ever. I can't imagine what he would do with a full live action Batman.

Really, just get him on any big project. His theme work has the potential to eventually match Zimmer.

Not to get too off topic, but I always that Christopher Drake made
one hell of a composer for Batman. The soundtrack for Arkham Origins is
my most favorite Batman soundtrack. It's so nostalgic, definitive and fresh
all at the same time. I would really love him to score a live action Batman film.

The soundtrack for Wonder Woman was stunning, to be honest.
While I feel it's less memorable than the other soundtracks of the DCEU,
it still packs quite a punch!

Christopher Drake's All-Star Superman score is my favorite thing about that movie. It's beautiful. His TDKR score was amazing too. I didn't love his WW score as much, but it was good. I'd put it about on par with this movie's score, though.

The score in this is really good and compliments the movie so well, but that damn electric cello that pops up really is jarring given the tone of the film.

As nice as the score was, and as rousing as the WW battle theme was, I think they needed a Wonder Woman love theme. It could've been a slower theme that repeated, and could then be played again over the end credits with lyrics this time as the end credits song instead of the Sia song.

I think this franchise could do with an Into the West type song.

The score was incredible, one of my favourite parts of the film. I loved the reuse of 'Is She With You?' especially when they teased the theme, same as they did in BvS. The score had some themes that really reminded me of Man of Steel which I was very happy about. A fantastic score, hopefully they'll bring the composer back for future DC films.

this was EASILY my fave track on the soundtrack!

it just pumped you up SO much

What's the name of the track at the beginning part of the end credits? Is that 'WW Wrath'..?

The bit from the 0.25 seconds mark where it starts building before the electric cello kicks in feels like it should be accompanying the flickering Marvel pages logo, a bit like how you hear at the beginning of Elfman's Spider-Man theme.

It's that damn cello that ruins this for me, everything else about this score feels like a proper superhero theme, something that's been lacking since TDKR.

Is the Tina Guo WW theme still considered the WW theme, or did Rupert Gregson-Williams compose anything that could be considered either a secondary theme or a new WW theme at all?

It's fantastic, it doesn't need a secondary one

Is the moment when

Steve and Diana kiss in the room after slow-dancing in the village

on the soundtrack? I couldn't find it anywhere. I loved that cue in the film.

I think they should've used the Amazons of Themsycira theme more frequently in the movie. It is quite uplifting, especially with all the Celtic flutes.

Did the WW soundtrack include the WW theme in its full form either from BvS (the "Is she with you" track) or the Tina Guo rock version?

Or is the closest thing to it Wonder Woman's Wrath?

I was hoping to get a less rocky version than the Tina Guo one which actually started off with the slow and mysterious traditional cello and not the one from "Is she with you" which starts off straight away with the electric cello. Is there no version that starts off with the slow cello that doesn't go into the full rock version like the Tina Guo single?
