Recast Flash Gordon!

    So i was at home today watching tv and the Flash Gordon movie came on, the movie version from the 80s with the Queen soundtrack. The first time i saw this movie was when i was a kid and loved it back then. As i sat watching it again i thought it would be really awesome if they remade the movie with the special effects possibilities of today.

    Now i ask, if they were to cast a new Flash Gordon movie who would you pick as the cast?

    These were the main characters:

    Flash Gordon
    Dale Arden
    The Emperor Ming
    Dr. Hans Zarkov
    Princess Aura
    Prince Barin
    Prince Vultan

    I also was Flash Gordon fan, but I would like to have remake too.

    It would be great. New vissual style and CGI effects, new actors, finnaly new director!

    And if they makes it, it will be realesed only in 2009-2010.

    But I hope we will get awesome reamke.

    Plot Summary for
    Flash Gordon 2007

    All-American football player Flash Gordon and the beautiful Dale Arden find themselves unwilling participants in the experiment of the slightly mad scientist Dr. Zarkov. The three of them are transported to the planet Mongo, ruled with an iron fist by the evil Ming the Merciless. Flash, Dale, and Zarkov soon team up with the planet's resistance movement to overthrow Ming and bring peace to Mongo.

    Thanks man. For once I decided to put some real thought behind my casting choices. I'm a fan of the 80's movie which had a lot of clear, striking characters, my favorite being Timothy Dalton as Prince Barin, so it wasn't hard for me to remember any of them.

    Anyone have any ideas as to who would be a good director, and should Queen still do the score?

    Unfortunately I believe Stephen Sommers is still attached...:(
    He wanted Ashton Kutcher to star in it for pete's sake.:mad:


    I agree though Phantom nice casting.:up:
    Although I would replace Cuthbert with Keri Russell.

    They're keeping him as a football player? Weird, since he was an astronaut in the comics.

    I really don't care, I'll see it with who ever. Paul Walker sounds like a great choice.

    Hell, I'd even see it with James Van der Beek.


    Max Von Sydow was dead awesome as Ming.

    I don't suppose any of you folks gave thought to Alan Rickman as Zarkov, by any chance or better yet, Ron Perlman as either Ming or Klytus.
