Until I threw together this cast, I didn't realize how of-it's-time The Rock really is, and how the plot is very much ingrained in that post-Cold War, post-Gulf War, pre-9/11 era. That doesn't mean it couldn't be made today, it would just take a different set of circumstances to set up the "Die Hard on Alcatraz" premise.
