Homecoming Reilly, O'Hara & Morales better suited of spin offs?

that actually looks pretty damn similar to 90's comics Peter Parker even more so than Miguel

Sony should have the rights... he is a Spider-Man!

If they do then when the Amazing franchise comes to a close they should do a Spider-Man 2099 version.

It'd be Spider-Man but offer up a freshness with the setting, era, style and tone.

I've become more open to the idea of a Spider-Man 2099 film. It could be a breath of fresh air, and would be very cool visually.

So most of you prefer a SM2099 film over a Ben Reilly flick? :)

I'm working on a very grounded Ben Reilly plot outline, which is somewhat connected to the ASM movies so far. It features Tombstone/the mob as the main villain, with Miles Warren as the Jackal, and a sidekick style appearance of Damon Ryder (who later becomes Raptor). Too many villains you say? I think I did a quite ok job connecting them, so it doesn't seem too over crowded. Maybe I have to work out Reilly's personal story a little more. The idea is to play with the notion of him being a clone or not.

I'll post it here if anybody's interested.

I think 2099 would be a much more unique film. I feel anything you could do with Miles and Ben....too a point, can be done with Peter. That's only if they are willing to do it.

2099 though just takes use to a very unique world. Though honestly I think they could even just do a story like the video game. Swap Peter and Miguel in their timelines. Then we can follow 2099 on his own film.

The idea of doing a spin-off or sequel featuring one (or more) of these characters intrigues me as well. I'm thinking that one way to do it could be to merge some of them into one. For example Miles Morales and Ben Reilly. Introduce Miles in the TASM universe and have him become the Scarlet Spider, so as to differentiate more clearly between him and the actual Spider-Man - and also to avoid the hassle of the clones. And then add some of Reilly's characteristics. I guess he would be more of a legacy character. I don't know, I'm just thinking out loud.

Doing Spider-Man 2099 could be really cool too, even if I doubt Sony have the balls to do something like that. But I think that at least visually, it could be stunning. They could also make it a crossover with Garfield's Spidey. I imagine something a la the "time rip / time travel" in DOFP. Spidey swinging around contemporary New York City, suddenly ends up in a futuristic city looking like something out of GOTG, teams up with O'Hara to set things right. Very simplified of course, you could do it a million different ways, but I definitely think there are plenty of opportunities with these characters, if they really want to dig into the universe and expand it.

Diego Boneta for Miguel O' Hara.
I'd love to see him as Miguel!
