Rejuvenate a Marvel Character

If you worked for Marvel Comics and were told that you could Rejuvenate a Marvel Character that has not been used for quite some years, weather it be a single character or a team of characters.

Who would you pick?
Would there be any changes?

Silver Surfer..he's almost to much to handle. I don't know how I'd do it. I would probably put him on a team , like GOTG or a regular NOVA or FF guest. Then I'd get somebody like DnA to do the ongoing. He is just in such a stasis right now.

Alpha Flight-just get back to basics. Canada needs a super team full of Canadians.

Speedball-Get him back as speedball, tweak his powers and make him a respectable hero.

Hank Pym- Ditto.

Shang-Chi- Easily could generate solid interest and a guy like Bru could power his return.

Sentry - So much work needs to be done to fix this character. Let's start with his sanity.

Groot - The "I am Groot" thing is getting old.

I would make him an Islamic black american, he would still be strong on speeches, but instead of spouting moral common sense, he would be liberal and have no policies. He would have the secret identity of a black, christian american and instead of being an artist like Steve Rogers he would be in the thick of things at capital hill.

I kinda had a thing like this about sentry who could have been the world's most powerful hero but operated under the guise of a second class citizen back in teh day which ultimately had soemthing to do with him mindwiping everyone.

he'd come back and be skeptical about the new world he now has to save while his alter ego would be a corporate ceo of supervillains, untouchable as he continually bends but doesnt break the law to get what he wants (kinda like xanatos in gargoyles).

I do have to say i loved the original idea of the ultimate fantastic four though.

make black tarantula and kaine main spidey villains again.

Hmmm....

I'd bring back prowler into mainstream NY. He'd be like a cool black panther. Hudlin would never be allowed to write anything to do with the character.

The sentry would die horribably as a result of the serium he took to try and get high and ended up becoming a hero. This would show that drug use is a bad thing. No one would attend his funeral.

Wolverine and Spider-Man could only be in three books a month no matter what.

Bendis would become an editor and idea man only.

Mephisto would come after peter parker, reveal everything, aunt may would die and things would go back to Spider-Man as a superhero.

X-Men would interact with the MU more and whine less.

Agent Zero would be in more books, making the MU more badass.

Luke Cage would shut the **** up about his unbreakable skin after tony stark beats his ass down with lasers.

73% less ninjas.

Black Trantula would come back and kill this imposter.

Silver Surfer ongoing.

i loved that guy.He was small as hell but would kick you butt.forget that really being tall nonsense ,he should be just like he was introduced. a dwarf but kick your butt from here to the great white north.

Assuming I'm a editor + writer:

I'd bring back Sabretooth and make Wild Child an interesting character. I'd also undo that Wolverine: Evolution arc.

I'd fix Venom once and for all, and any writer that would want/have to use his character would have run things by me 1st.

I'd reintroduce Hulk back to his original title "incredible Hulk" with his Green Scar persona restored.

I'd foward that idea for an Ultimate Wolverine ongoing

If Jessica Drew is really gone...I'd promote Julia Carpenter as the one and only Spider-Woman (I like Jessica more, but she's had A LOT of exposure as is).

Not enough good writing on earth can fix Spidey, so I'll pass that buck.





Then and only once that was all done, for the original question of a character I'd rejuvenate...Taskmaster. By the time I was through with him, he'd be the Deathstroke of the Marvel Universe we was meant to be. Have him take down the Avengers, New and Mighty, and sit back and watch.

Silver Surfer. This guy needs to be involved in 616 more often. Making him a herald again makes no sense.

Hawkeye- why is he still Ronin? Guy is a good version of Bulleyes but yet they have using numbchucks!

Sentry- believe it or not, he does have a place in the MUA it just has to be released and brought to the front.

Vision- dude has been a staple of the Avengers now he's reduced to........whatever he is now.

Last but not least: fire Joey Q and replace him with Dan Slotts. Not saying Dan would please all the fans but at least he interacts with them and gets a feel for what they want/needs.......unlike Q who'd sell his sell for a nickel.

Black Panther- I would make him not be a jackass. Wakanda having the cure for cancer and not sharing it with the rest of the world is straight up cold.

Hank Pym- I would make him cool again.

I forgot about Vision..he needs a major return to prominance.

I would write the character into a corner so restrictive that when I did a reboot people would be so happy for the changes they'd even accept a ******ed excuse for the reboot like "He made a deal with the devil."

Black Panther: I'd go find Priest and make him come back and write the books.

The Champions- Hercules, Angel, Iceman, Darkstar ,Black Widow and Ghost Rider. i always loved that team and i would bring them back

Icarus- I'd love to see him not dead and on a grown-up team. I want the more mature, "She Lies With Angels" Jay.

I'd fix Spider-Man and take Tony Stark out of Jerk mode. Introduce a new Captain America as well.

Tony only seems to be in jerk mode when Bendis writes him. He's fine in Invincible, not sure about Director of SHIELD.

I'd fix the Thunderbolts. Bring it back to the original good concept of former supervillains who genuinely wanna do good.

Get rid of the current roster except Songbird. Keep her on as the leader alongside Leonard Sampson as a fulltime member.
Kill Radioactiveman (the only other character available to add any real sense of tragedy for Songbird)

eh i like everyone else on that roster besides cat and elektra... cat was really never that bad.. and hardly was even a criminal.. and elektra isnt a team player in the least.
