Marvel 'Legacy' question

My DC Universe Rebirth one-shot is cover-priced at $5.99 - although it's the second printing, and I understand they upped the quality of paper and binding for the second printing (to get people to fork out for it twice, I guess).

Despite the rumors of a return of the Fantastic Four looks like they were half right. We get the Fantastic Two. One pic had the Thing with a belt buckle with the number 2 on it. Looks like a book will come wth him and the Torch as a team.

Yeah, DC had an interesting strategy - sell the first copy at a loss for $2.99, sell the reprints for $5.99. Marvel doesn't seem to have any interest in that. Short of shipping free copies, they prefer to keep everything at the same price and not sell at a loss.

Well, Marvel 2 in 1 was always a Thing book, so adding Human Torch makes sense. Pity for FF fans, though.

Fun fact, my very first comic book was a 2 in 1 with Ghost Rider.

I remember a Thing/Shang-Chi Marvel 2 in 1 way back. Yes Shang-Chi actually fought the Thing hand to hand! Wonder how many kids took up Kung Fu lessons on the strength of that! :funny:

Bright side is at least FF fans like me can now read about them without having to buy the Inhumans and GOG.

The fact nobody can talk about Marvels news, more diverse, characters without saying the "more diverse" part says more about Marvels direction than anything.

Not "more interesting" or "more exciting".

Marvel needs new characters and fresh blood injected in to its universe, but they need to start with great stories.

Thor I think's been great, but I can't say the same for a lot of their other titles. I'd even say Hellcat's been really interesting, just as adding more variety in storytelling.

The fact Marvels leading Legacy announcements with a load new #1s rather than a load of talented writers they've hired, says a lot.

I feel like marvel should've been working towards new diverse heroes ans villains as opposed to banking on them being legacy characters. I know they're trying to push the whole idea that anyone can be spiderman or cap or hulk. But they just dont feel as genuine imo. I would rather have new heroes/villains with new powers and motivations.

After the success of Miles and Kamala, it really isn't too surprised that they went the way they did.

Of course, it just sucks to be stuck in a rutt where there are no marvel titles i want to read any more.

I see that said a lot. Do Marvel just not get the message? I can't believe they don't care - they want to sell comics at the end of the day and alienating the fans obviously impacts negatively on that

So this a fun rumor...

Slott will be leaving Spider-man after the big anniversary issue. Nick Spencer is supposed to be his replacement.

I have a hard time believing Slott will voluntarily leave Spider-Man as much as I think fresh blood would be necessary. It makes me wonder if Spencer would go on Spectacular Spider-Man instead.

He overstayed his welcome a long time ago. I would really love to believe he would be leaving at 800 but I don't want to get my hopes up :/

Also its kind of weird to think Slott wrote 600, 700 and now 800.

People complain about Marvel having two many titles, they complain that Marvel is releasing one-shots. Darkhawk can't support an ongoing title. Marvel has decided to release something cool with the character for those who are interested without diluting the market even further.

That being said, if they spaced these one-shots out (I doubt they will), I might actually be likely to buy more than one.

Not gonna lie, the Avenger Million BC is tempting me to pick up the Legacy one shot.
