After purchasing the the ultimate Superman box set. I thought to myself, that even now, even thou they had been remaster these films looked dated in parts when it comes to FX and in years to come this will get worse. Now true fans like myself will say "so what its classic" But you new fans, younger fans will be say" its to old to enjoy". I beleive that Christopher Reeve's legacy as the best Superman should be presereved and these films should be given the old "George Lucas" styled treatment. (the original star trek series has just had this kind of make over too) All the FX should be redone from scratch. Recompoisted, CGI you name it. Everything should be done to turn these films into a modern VISUAL FX master piece. The story is there, the characters and the drama is there and so by enhancing and updating the Look then these films will be able to be enjoyed by the next generation of movie viewers. Superman 4 would need a lot of work to enhance the film and its story.

Suggestions for all films:
  1. Remaster all films as HI DEFINITION and clean them frame by frame (the way indiana jones and Star wars was done)
  2. Remaster the audio
  3. Recomposite all "Close up" Flying scenes.
  4. Redesign all distant flying scenes with CGI.
  5. Re do the titles. (of course keep original style just new CGI sharper look)
  6. RE do all Space and Krypton destruction scenes.
  7. Replace Heat vision with new styled (as in Smallvile and Superman Returns)
  8. Re do all super speed scenes.
Superman 2:
Use the Donner cut, add new Effects, try to tidy up the Screen test scene, perhaps using cut aways with voice overs rather than the changing hair style look.

Superman 3:
1. Try to improve the reason behind Richard Pryor becoming a computer genius. (difficult but not impossible)

2. Re do all Computer screen shots, make them modern, giving them perhaps a timeless look.

3. Re colour the fabricated Kryptonite. Now you mite say if you do that, why does no one question the fact is red when everyone nows it should be green, well easily solved, perhaps when it goes near superman the it can slowly change from green to a glowing red. This restores the superman myth of red Kryptonite.

4. Re design all supercomputer screens including the targeting screens at the end, (remove the video game look)

Superman 4:
Re do the birth of Nuclear man. How would i do this? Well well lex is adding his ingredients to the birthing box, I would add a shot of him dropping a small piece of kryptonite into the box and remove the shot of him adding in the bits of fabric for the costume. Then perhaps add a voice over from previous film of Gene hackman mention kryptonite as he drops it into the box. Acomplished by either using existing footage or shoot new material of close up of the box and kryptonite being dropped in. Also composite in the background a shot of Nuclear mans outfit hanging on the wall.

Now when the box is thrown into the sun. Have the embryo forming, show the bits of kryptonite mixing with it in space, but it doesnt turn to nuclear man yet in stead a ball of of energy travels to earth.

Now when nuclear man arrives on earth, show the energy ball entering lex's hide out and filling the costume.......This present a more realistic view.

Now when superman fights nuclear, Nuclear mans nails should look green, as if made from kryptonite and so when he scratches Superman its kryptonite poisoning that makes him sick.

Also when he fights nuclear man and things get destroyed, eg great wall of china. replace the blue eye beams with his superbreath ie. he blows the wall back into the place. Keeping with a more traditional view of Superman.

Again true fans will be against it but this would help restore the vision and help preserve it for time to come.

Additional to Superman 4 (other films too)
The statue of liberty should be replaced by Cgi statue of something else, for its not in metropolis. All new york elements should be replaced with cgi.

Also the seen in space with lacy should be recomposited to earth scene.

That's a great thought and some great inputs tp gp with it. While, as you rightly say some purists may have problems with such radical improvements or additions, from afan's point of view I would love to see it happen. However, I doubt Warners would do something like this specially with a movie that they have extraxted so much from. The economics may just be too much of an issue.

I have the same idea some time ego with thew collectors box, you can see it below! another idea that I have, is to have the same movies but see it all from different angles. Imagine Superman the movie with an all new point of view with different angles! that would be great!

They should preserve the memory of Christopher Reeve as best as possible....Cost should not come in to it. Anyway Fans will buy it.

Additional to Superman 4 (other films too)
The statue of liberty should be replaced by Cgi statue of something else, for its not in metropolis. All new york elements should be replaced with cgi.

In the movies, Metropolis is New York. Richard Donner established this in the first movie.

Wow...I never entertained such a notion before. I like it. And it can be done, without going all 2004 SW DVD style...

A lot of the effects NEED to be touched up.

Like in the Donner Cut when Zod and Co. tore down the Washington Monument...that looked so fake that it compeletely took me out of the film...albiet briefly.

So did the Chris Reeve stand-in...they should'a just asked Brandon Routh to step in...lol.

yes but that was more likely due to the fact of making things simple. Now days with modern technology we can create Metropolis to look like it should it the comics and not be compare to any other city. The statue of liberty is NEW York...........not metropolis.

Or they can do what Batman Forever did when they called the SofL, "Lady Gotham" and just give it a new name...lol.

"Lady Metropolis"

Let's face it nothing could save Superman IV! I've waited for years to see the Protype Nuclearman/Bizarro battle that was cut from the movie thinking it would help, but cutting it out actually seems like a good idea now having seen the deleted scenes.:wow:

There's no doubt that even though Superman IV was a wasted opportunity, it would have been so much worse with the deleted scenes kept in.
