Reminiscence (Hugh Jackman)

*clicks to see if it doesn't threaten The Batman's release date*

*exhales with relief*

Looks very promising, but we'll see. I hope it delivers.

Based on this peek, the movie looks a tad… derivative — reminiscent :cwink: of Inception, The Matrix, Brainstorm, Johnny Mnemonic, Strange Days, The Lawnmower Man, The Cell, Devs, etc., etc.

Now, it could be that Reminiscence has an entirely fresh take on the “virtual reality” theme. But I didn’t get that from the trailer.

Other than Prisoners, this looks like Hugh’s first meaty role since The Prestige. That corrupt school principal film was also good for him... just a more *****ey and less angry/sad character.

Looks really good. I'll stream it whenever its available.

Something about this trailer fell a bit flat for me.

Ferguson and Jackman had great chemistry in Greatest Showman, and I am always at least a little hopeful for some big concept sci-fi thriller, but I dunno, the trailer's beats and aesthetic do feel a bit rote. This feels like a trailer for a Nolan movie but with more CG and less technical aplomb.

Still hopeful, though.

Looks like a sexier Inception sequel. I dig it.

LOL such a weird way to word it. Why other than Prisoners :funny:

I got alot of Wolverine vibes(White T-shirt and tank scene come to mind) I also got "The greatest showman vibes( PT Barnum's ancestor is still pining for Jenny Linds ancestory)

It’s giving me major Transcendence vibes. And I could be wrong but I feel like the trailer was trying to make it look more blockbustery/actiony than the movie actually is. Also, it looks like Rebecca Ferguson was shot in every ethereal-yet-haunting-memory-of-dead-wife-cliche shot possible :funny:.

Looks like a mash-up of Inception and Transcendence which worries me. I'm cautiously optimistic.

Looks great to me.

EDIT: Just saw that Natalie Martinez is in this and now I’m worried. She’s never in anything good, lol.

Yeah, the trailer on paper looks amazing! But something is missing, and I can't quite put my finger on it.

Maybe it's this? I feel like I've seen bits of it in other things which makes it feel slightly off?

So, figured i should bump this since its coming out next week.
People have already seen it but i dont see a soul talking about it. Oof.

Seen a lot of ads for this lately but for a movie about memory, seems like this one is gonna be quickly forgotten.

I've seen exactly one TV ad for this and there's been around zero buzz so far. :csad: Comes out Friday!
