Removing pesky scratches

I have an aluminum mac book pro that i bought about a year ago. I am VERY anal when it comes to keeping my property in good shape. So needless to say, I was pretty peeved to find little scratches on the lid of my laptop. What I want to know is, is there anything I can do to remove the scratches from my lid?
