Since the intrepid Miss Fox discovered this afternoon that the ol' Tumbler is going bye bye i was wondering what everyone would like to see Batman use as his vehicle(s)in TDK as a replacement ?

No doubt to be used in an action sequence

I said a combination of the two because I would like to see a new batmobile....and when i say new.... i mean a spare tumbler from the storage basement. And a Batwing. It's BATman. He has to have some form of air support.

I've mentioned this in other posts - a boat makes more sense (due to the geographic layout of Gotham) But I feel a bike could make for cooler action sequences... I just hope the editing style for the action chase (whatever vehicle they end up using) is better than the "Begins" chase.

P.S. I HATE that they're getting rid of the Tumbler.

I'd be VERY happy to see that.

Batcycle, although obviously the Batmobile needs replacing.

I thought the chase scene in BB was good. Its a blank tank. I like what Andy Dick did at the MTV Movie Awards in 05' Its tank man.

I voted for the combo. I want a new Batmobile or just a fixed Tumbler. The Tumbler is awesome enough as it is so I don't see a need to re-design the replacement. But I'd also like to see the Batwing introduced. It'd be cool to see what Nolan could do with that, although Burton's was pretty much perfect so I guess we probably should just be happy with what we got and not put any expectations on Mr. Nolan in regards to the Batwing.

I think I'll actually miss the Tumbler. But I'd like to see it replaced by a new cool Batmobile.

I'm going for a combo,The Batbike and the Batboat with the bike being destroyed in the movie and at the very end Fox unveils a sleek new Batmobile to Bruce.

The water locales make a lot of sense for the boatchase in particular

Combo of both a new Batmobile and Bike.

Eh?? Did you see the movie? in terms of action the only scenes that where edited with very quick cuts and shot in extreme close-ups where the fight scenes and the wayne's murder scene(yes it was bad) but the chase scene was well shot, heck its great I didn't see any close-ups or quick cuts when the batmobile was leaping from roof to roof or when it was being chased in the tunnel or when it jumped to the batcave.

Gonna miss the Tumbler, but ...bring on the , ..em bat...cycle.

I voted for new Batmobile, just because that seems the most useful and practical for getting around the city (can't land your jet on a roof, a motorcycle doesn't offer much protection/security, a boat severely limits where you can go, etc.).

Just another car...maybe a modified tumbler.

Something I didn't like about the other four films is that they kinda seemed like an excuse to sell toys, dragging everything out, each film (a different car for each, augmented with some other vehicle like a plane or boat, which got all bashed up and wrecked).

Keeping with the more grounded tone of these new films, I don't want to see something a complete 180 from the Tumbler, but rather something close to it, but improved. As though, once the Tumbler was destroyed (if that's going to happen), Bruce and Alfred (and Lucius) take the opportunity to roll out a second one, but fix a few things (perhaps sleek it up, add some new capabilities in the form of weapons or electronics, etc.).

But I don't think a sleek, elongated car with bat scallops and bat logos on it fits or makes sense. I much more like the idea of a bulky, rumbling ATV tank that you cannot get to, and that is quite intimidating in its own right, just sitting there.

I don't want to see anything remotely approaching the cars from the first four films, sorry.

If they've got any balls, they'll give him a BatSegway.

:D

Love your name. Bababooey. Oh and by the way...

You can if your jet is equipted with VTOL (vertical take off and landing)...

I think the destruction of the tumbler is a great excuse to bring in a new Bat Wing! :bat:

This is true (re: VTOL). Didn't think of that.

A BatHarrier (but cooler-looking, of course). ;)

Okay...now that has almost exactly the same level of appeal to me as the tumbler, now that I've thought on it for a few minutes. With VTOL capability, he can land and take off from anywhere, so those traditional Batwing shortcomings (accessibility and parking problems) are out the window.

Where/how would one be built and not raise suspicions? And Bruce would have to learn to be a pilot (if he's not already). They'd have to explain that, and make it believable. Just having him show up in it, like Keaton did, will be a bit jarring. They could have a sequence earlier on in the film, before we even see this vehicle, where it's let on that Bruce has been taking flying lessons since the events in "Batman Begins", and that he's capable of handling jets (like John Travolta! :p ), just so there's a little bit of backstory and plausibility to it, and it ties in together in some sort of believable way.

Bruce could even go to Lucius at some point and say something like "what are the chances of making me a tumbler that can fly?" or whatever, letting Lucius know exactly what Bruce has on his mind...

:)

The plot does seem to call for the use of a Batboat. But personally, I'm not really all the interested in different vehicles and such. If they're there, they're there.

Obviously, eventually, we'll need to see a new Batmobile, though. For that, I'd like to see something sleeker. Certainly not the Burtonmobile v2, but definitely something more refined than The Tumbler.
