Rescue Dawn

Looks like this could be good. I'm there.

Steve Zahn is really better then people give him credit for. He likely is not as funny but more likely the one who cracks a joke now and then. I think Bale has hit a good streak in his carrier thanks to a little film called Batman Begins.

MGM Picks Up Herzog's Rescue Dawn
Source: MGM,ScreenDaily.com
September 9, 2006

MGM announced today that they've acquired Rescue Dawn, the survival story of Dieter Dengler, an American pilot shot down in Viet Cong territory, written and directed by Werner Herzog and starring Christian Bale. They're planning on giving the film a U.S. theatrical run in December.

Based on the true story of an American pilot, Dieter Dengler (Christian Bale) is shot down during a top-secret mission to destroy Viet Cong strongholds in Laos at the beginning of the Vietnam War. Taken hostage, he endures unimaginable conditions at the hands of cruel captors in a makeshift POW camp. Dengler's iron will to survive guides him and fellow prisoners in a meticulously-planned, death-defying escape, only to discover the harsh realities of an unforgiving jungle beyond the camp's walls. Steve Zahn and Jeremy Davies costar in this unforgettable story of one man's determination and unrelenting pursuit of freedom

NEW! Trailer

This looks to be a full US theatrical trailer rather than the other cut together scraps of footage we have seen and it looks very good IMO,another fine performance from Bale i am sure and this should mean a US cinema release date will happen soon:up:

Looks great, hopefully this will eventually get a release over here.

the new trailer aired in front of Rocky Balboa, fantastic:up:

I'm assuming he did his 'machinist diet' thing again. If ya haven't seen the machinist check it out, that movie was pre-batman begins. You can see how thin he was in that movie, then check him out in batman begins. I'm assuming hes paper thin in this movie(the whole concentration camp thing, little food, water, heat, disease etc..).
Very hard on the body to lose that much weight, then put it back on,take it off etc.....

Mjaa, that thing. Yea, I've seen The Machinist.

Bale is seriously one of the most dedicated actors I have ever seen. He also gets extra points for not want to be spotlight all the time. I could watch anything he is in.

He's skinny in this movie but he's definitely not Machinist skinny.

Seriously how many times have this movie been postponed?

Yeah, I really want to see it- Christian Bale has been AWESOME in ever movie I've seen him in. Always a phenomenal performance.
