I'm the most excited about Apocalypse because we get another shot to give Cyke respect and to show off his leadership abilities as well as no holds barred full on optic blasts. .

I do have my concerns though. What Cyke will we get? I'm afraid we'll get an unsure teen. Hopefully not. It would be interesting if we got a young hardened cyclops already battle trained joining the academy to stop the Apocalypse. Now some will throw a rock at me stating profess x trains Scott to maximize control over his powers. I think Prof X can help him get to the next lvl like he did with Mags in FC.

You can definitely tell the studio is trying to find someone else to hang the franchise on with Jackman repeatedly mentioning his time is coming to an end.

They're going to start cutting back on Wolverine as a character, outside from his solo films, I think. A strong Cyclops is exactly who they need.

Cyclops needs to beat Wolverine in a fight and humiliate him in the process, that's how you win the kids over. As for critics and adults, you make him shine in the movie by doing what the Russo brothers did with Captain America.

X-Men Apocalypse is probably my most anticipated X-Men movie ever...partly because of Cyclops. I can't wait to see what they do with him for Apocalypse..

I hope we get some more comics accurate costumes this time.

I can't wait to see the costumes they will come up for the X-Men!

Yeah a strong Cyclops is a must I hope we get a better design for his visor this time was never a fan of the thing in X1/X2.

Full optic blast ? leadership ? in this movie maybe he will be a kid or a teen. What leadership ? It will focus on characthers'development from prequel (Xavier, Mystique, Magneto, Beast) like Singer said
Maybe Xavier will recruit Scott Jean Ororo at the end or those will have a small role

They must make X4 or X5 with full members (Cyclops, Wolvy, Jean, Storm, Beast, Colossus, Iceman, Rogue, Kitty) and there we will really see Cyclops's abilities. I wait for that!

If this thing is set in the 80's then wouldn't the tech behind the visor be a little more rudimentary compared to X1/X2?

They could give him a larger visor than the one he wore in x1, lol.

Having apocalypse means mr sinister should turn up eventually which would be a wonderful opportunity to give cyclops some character growth

We need a scene with Cyclops hitting Wolverine right in the kisser at least once.

Yeah I can go all along with that or at least in the style of the 80's would make a lot of sense.

Yeah we dont really know to what degree these three will appear in the film, whether they will be major characters from the start or sort of introduced at the end to set up things going forward as with Hugh/JLaw/Fassbender/MaCavoy such big names you would expect them to be the focus again.

I really like this route. I think a story where he's able to establish his character like in Astonishing X-men would be excellent. The difficulty in this is obviously trying to do so in the midst of introducing Jean and Storm with their own character development. Then you also Got Apocalypse's character to flesh out. Lots of juggling here but they've been doin a great job since First class.

It definetly is the most anticipated, partly so because of Cyclops but I think the last 3 movies being pretty good to excellent meshed with the Ultimate Marvel villain are larger reason. I don't hope for more comic accurate costumes. yuck are you kidding me? This is real life, yellow underwear over blue pants doesn't make you look like a defender of the defenseless more like a tool. Im not down for the all black unless they are fighting Apoc, his army and the 4 horsemen at night, which I strongly doubt. More military like outfits would seem proper.

strongly doubt it. Beast Xavier and Mystique couldn't handle 1 Mark X by themselves. The X-men will need the extra muscle of high powered Storm and Cyclops. Jean Grey is also a powerful telepath. They'll need all the strength they can get against potentially an Apoc army, Apoc and his 4 horseman. so with that said, we could really see Cyke let loose on a wave of evil mutants, all mighty Apoc and other amped up horsemen.

indeed. but not in this movie, other posters have made me realize sinister deserves his own film. The direction I'd like to see is Cyclops already having leadership qualities(born leader). His tactical, combat and mutant skills already have been developed by a mentor who got the lead of his gifts from Alex. He learns later that this mentor was Nathanial Essex.

they werent big names in FC. If the script requires the blood to be established, they will do so. No better way to show off the raw skills, abilities and characters of Jean, Ororo and Scott than in the midst of Apocalyptic chaos and world war.

They need to recreate the fight from one of the early issues from Ultimate X-Men where he just goes nuts on Wolverine for leaving Cyclops for dead just so Wolverine could get into Jean's pants.

I'm more concerned about whether they develop him into an interesting character who isn't just Wolverine's foil or Jean's love interest. How he copes with his powers, his view of them as an affliction, but his rising to lead in spite of that are crucial aspects of who he is. He espouses Xavier's principles (specifically that mutants should use their powers to help humankind), more than any of his other students, and I want to see that.

Funny that's 100% my feelings for Storm: I'm the most excited about Apocalypse because we get another shot to give Storm respect and to show off her leadership abilities as well as no holds barred full on control of the weather .

You as a Cyclops fan and me as a Gambit and Storm fan have both been made to suffer- and now we both have hope of more meaningful screen time and a chance to show the world how bad-ass awesome both characters truly are!!!

Yesssss, Apocalypse is my most anticipated movie in the next two years :D

I am still not convinced that Cyclops will get his due. Singer never displayed any particular fondness for him. It was Singer that marginalized Scott for most of X2. Do you do that to a character you like? But I would like nothing but to be proven to wrong.

It's not about Cyke having all the screentime in the world it's about how they portray him with his given screentime. I'm not even a fan of Cyclops but his character has been treated like garbage in this series Singer and the writers need to get it together already. Even if they don't love the character they still need to treat it with far more respect than they have.

Singer Didn't care about any X men but wolverine in the first two films. Seriously. I'm confident things have improved with how wolvie was handled in fc and more importantly dofp.

The characters he cared about were clear. Wolverine (duh), Rogue, Mystique, Charles, Eric , Jean, Nightcrawler and William Stryker. He couldn't even be bothered to keep Scott in a leadership position in X2. Condemning him to mentions and words throughout most of the film. That is a poor treatment of the leader of X-men.

Yeah the last two X-Men films (not counting The Wolverine) have had a pretty decent balance characterwise.
