Return of the Joker question.

According to the script, it was a dummy made to look like the Joker's dead body. Not the actual body.
The actual corpse was in an earlier episode of Batman Beyond, if I recall rightly. I forget the episode, but the Jokerz used it for initiation I think.

IIRC the scene in question actually appeared in DC's adaptation of the movie (my copy's buried somewhere). So did the Joker's original death.

Wow. Did anyone watch the special features?

Yes, such a scene was cut, technically. But it never got fully animated. The voices were recorded and the animatic version is on the DVD.

But I wish the scene had been left in. From what I understand about it, it ends with Bruce leaving Arkham in a hurry when he sees something. After Bruce leaves, Terry goes inside to see what Bruce saw. It appears to be the Joker's corpse, with "I Know" written on it, hanging from the ceiling.

I saw it too and I wish it was on there too cause it was awesome! Evn though not fully animated, but it was creepy/awesome. One of my favorite things is when people visits something in the past or a person of the past. Thats wht i LOVE Bttf :cwink:.

Find that episode I wanna see it!!

Wow, really? That's pretty intense...

It's in Joyride, in the very beginning right before the Jokers get ahold of the military vehicle.

Yep... believed to be the joker...

Hmmm, kind of ambiguous though, like if it had something else i'd say yeah, but that could easily not be Joker. Know what I mean?

Was there an audio commentary with that episode? I'm sure I heard the makers actually say that he was the Joker and it was part of their initiation to see his corpse.

Oh right, sorry, I was just taking it from the screenshot.

Don't be, I'm quite pleased you found that image, I didn't really want to watch all the episodes just to answer the question :)

True, it still seems odd to me. Like the writers new beforehand the ROTJ plot...

Dum dum DUM!!!

Ahh, but Batman Beyond featured the Justice League Unlimited before they even made Justice League, let alone JLU.

It wouldn't surprise me if the writers had already sat down and laid out a map of character paths over the years.

Very cool, and very rare in any sort of popular media. That's why we end up with things like Crisis and the guy walking out of the shower in Dallas.

very true, if you watch the call 2 and you hear some comments made by superman towards terry about how bruce and him are more similar than he can imagine and I think it was a lil easter egg planted all the way back in the past made for the relevation that they were actually related to be revealed years later.

That's awsome, when people actually take the time to plan stuff that they can use years ahead, that's a mark of true genius. And something the fans *always* appreciate.
