Revenge

We’ve reached that glorious time of summer when the networks let loose with screeners of returning shows’ season premieres. The latest to land on our virtual desk: ABC’s Revenge. Though we’re risking serious Red Sharpie action, here are a few things we’ve just gotta share.

First and foremost — as promised — the hour makes clear that certain convoluted plot lines from last season have gone the way of Frank and Lydia. In fact, fans will be happy to note that Emily flat-out declares, “Let’s never say the words ‘Carrion’ or ‘Initiative’ ever again.”

The ABC series’ previously released promo made it clear that a wedding gown-clad Emily takes some hot lead to the gut, then tumbles off a boat. I can tell you that the episode opens with that shocking hook, then rewinds to the previous Memorial Day weekend — which is months after the events of the Season 2 finale. Now, let’s see if we can’t tease things just a little bit more, shall we?

• Victoria’s relationship with her long-lost son, Patrick (played by Smallville‘s Justin Hartley) is Really. Not. OK.

• However, the fact that Hartley spends an entire scene wearing only a towel? Totally OK in our book.

• Within moments of Daniel running into a French hottie named Margaux (Welcome, Pan Am‘s Karine Vanasse!), the word “virgin” and the phrase “not wearing a bra” are bandied about.

• A major character is diagnosed with a life-threatening illness.

• Charlotte, who several characters note has had a trying year, could give One Life to Live‘s Adriana “*****y Bangs” Cramer a run for her nickname.

• Emily makes good on a huge debt to Nolan.

• Jack and Emily’s first scene together contains two giant, intriguing left turns that I did not expect.

• Em enlists
‘s help to rid the Hamptons of Ashley Davenport. But will it stick?

• Toward the end of the hour, the “double infinity” sign comes into play in a surprising way.

• A major character seems to have switched allegiances since last we saw him/her.

Revenge returns Sunday, Sept. 29 at 9/8c.

That promo really makes it look like this would be the final season. Everything looked good except for Emily/Jack. Just not into those 2 ever hooking up.

Ditto.

Especially about Emily and Jack. At this point, I'd actually rather her end up with Daniel. For real.

Aiden is a good alternative. :o

Ugly Betty alumna Ana Ortiz is exacting Revenge on former employer ABC.

The actress, currently starring on the recently renewed Lifetime sudser Devious Maids, has booked a Season 3 guest stint on ABC’s Sunday drama, TVLine has confirmed.

She will play the role of Bizzy Preston, a confident, fearless public relations specialist who’s brought in by Conrad to do damage control for the Graysons.

As of now Ortiz is booked for one episode.

Her casting was first reported by Latina magazine.

[BLACKOUT]Suck it Jack![/BLACKOUT]

More like "Suck It, Daniel". :o

At this point, Jack may or may not want anything to do with her.

From Jack's POV, I wouldn't blame him if he wanted nothing to do with Emily/Amanda.

Tonight. Thank God this doesn't conflict with Breaking Bad for me.

For whatever reason, I have the east coast feed for AMC. I get it at 6 here.

That's cool. It would be a pain being 3 hours behind I'm sure.

I'd hate it. With The Walking Dead, I might be able to take it, but the BB finale? No way. I'd literally have to block out all media for three hours until the damn thing airs.

Ashley got owned. :o:up:

And good riddance.

Like how Emily is making Conrad suffer. I didn't fully catch it, but I'm guessing that condition was faked. Which sucks, because that bastard deserves it.

And I'm guessing that Jack might not be as quite as over Emily as he thinks.

Charlotte was a *****. Totally her mother's daughter.

Was a really fresh premiere imo. Everything was enjoyable. Freaky to see Victoria be so happy.

I am surprised that the thought of having to take out Jack somehow hasn't crossed Emilys mind after he tells her she needs to be done by the end of summer. Esp since the two being together does nothing for me, would be nice little twist.

Best season premiere so far goes to..... Revenge...I agree with another poster that it was fresh and enjoyable.

A lot of good things set up... not surprised Charlotte is darker, I just want her to follow up her words with some action or she's just going to get annoying trying to be a mini-Victoria...nice to see Justin Hartley added to the mix and I can only imagine what his character's up to...and it looks like Aiden is a scorned man....uh-oh...

What's wrong with Aiden? Why should he feel scorned?

Green Arrow should dye his hair dark to look different from Ollie. Feels odd to see him.

Glad Ashley is gone too. She was dull.

Now how is Emily going to continue to fake Conrad's disease? And was the doctor in on it? He starred as Jesus in that Bible mini series earlier this year.

Sounds almost like this could be the last season of Revenge.

So an actor has to change their appearance every time the play a new role?

That's... time-consuming.

I thoroughly enjoyed the première. It was, as someone else said, very fresh. I love how little sis is now having her own Victoriaisms about to take Ollie down.
