Okay, I've got a thread like this in the Marvel boards, so here's one for here.
I got to read 2 BOOM! studios early for the comic reviews I do for a website, so here are my thoughts early for you guys.
Hexed #4
This is an amazing comic (not just this issue, all 4 of them so far). This is DEFINITELY my favorite comic title outside of Marvel right now, with only Hotwire: requiem for the dead, coming close.
I'm not sure if this was a 4 issue mini series (I think it is) or not but this issue nicely wraps up the story so far. I really REALLY hope they put more out though.
The art is SO fitting for the story, very dynamic and eye catching with a grimy edge to it. The writing, plot, dialogue, all fantastic.
The best part is the main character, the most singularly interesting/fun character I've read in a long time. I would absolutely love to see this made into a movie.
This issue and the whole 4 issues so far: 9/10
Pick them up if you can. I really REALLY hope they put out a tpb of it.

UGH! This is from BOOM! studios too, but is the opposite of Hexed as far as showing how good an independent company can be. The art looks very amateurish and the story is mediocre. To be fair, I didn't finish the issue so maybe it got better, but it was bad enough that I couldn't even finishing reading it despite it being free, for what that tells you.
Failing grade: 3/10
