one answer is:"by being the person that made him what he is"

as in his trainer

another one is:"to know his weak points"

as in his sucessor


you have to teach the champion to beat him,so you'll know what moves he throws at you,and how to counter them.

and by being his successor,you have to study him,as a result,you'll know his weak points,since everyone has one.
