You are in a room in a building. There are only two rooms in the building, and there are no windows in either room. The room you are in has three switches, which operate three light bulbs in the other room.

You need to deduce which switch operates which light bulb. You may only enter the other room once. How is this possible?

just open the door and look while you flip switches

Turn on one light switch and wait a while. Then turn that light switch off and turn another one on. Now go into the room and the light that's on goes to that light switch. Now feel the other light bulbs to see which one is hot. The one that is goes to the light switch you first turned on. The last light bulb goes to the last light switch.

Travel at the speed of ligth.

Ask the dude in the other room when and wich bulb turns on and off

so what is it dammit!?

Doctor Venture had it right.

Turn one switch on for a few minutes, then turn it off. Turn another switch on and go into the room.

The bulb that is out, but hot, belongs to the first switch you turned on (because you let it stay on for a while).

The bulb that is on belongs to the second switch.

The bulb that is off and cold goes to the third switch (that you didn't turn on).

my answer could also work

Yes, but it defeats the spirit of the riddle. How do you know which light goes to which switch if you only get to look once?

A variant on the riddle in the brain teaser thread says that the rooms are on different floors and there's no way to see one room from the other.

You never said anything about there being an door between rooms so... just look.

if there were no walls then it would only be one room

Turn on one light switch and wait a while. Then turn that light switch off and turn another one on. Now go into the room and the light that's on goes to that light switch. Now feel the other light bulbs to see which one is hot. The one that is goes to the light switch you first turned on. The last light bulb goes to the last light switch.

Did you google that? That's right of course.

My way is easier and more practical
