The main take away here, he did it!![]()
Biden embraces role as healer – but Trump remains king of the spectacle
The president’s calls to ‘lower the temperature’ demonstrated the power of incumbency, as both candidates strengthen their handswww.theguardian.com
The main take away here, he did it!
“The president urged everyone to take a “step back” and recognise the chilling pattern of the January 6 insurrection, the attack on Nancy Pelosi’s husband, the intimidation of election officials, the kidnapping plot against Michigan’s governor, Gretchen Whitmer, and the assassination attempt against Trump.”
Keep connecting those dots in people’s heads which should be very easy to do.
The gunman was a Republican.
It’s all right wing extremism.
Per -
“Trump could do something truly historic by echoing Biden’s address, insisting that violence has no place in politics, accepting that his own narrow escape is a cathartic moment and now America must pull back from the brink. The rest of the election campaign could be one of decency and grace.”
Not going to happen. Threats is all Trump and his wing know. They would be lost if they can’t keep threatening war and blood and so on.
They keep this contrast while Lincoln Project (hopefully) highlights the violence from the right since 2016 and this can be a leg up.
Use this to create and remind people of a real clear distinction between Trump and Biden’s America.
Trump’s administration statistically saw a clear rise in far right domestic terrorism with Trump dismissing his own DHS’ warnings about it.
True words.Just hope they inspire because I'm really depressed right now.
I feel sick, i really do. It's like God is looking out for this guy and he's one of the most corrupt people in power right now.Where is the justice?
It doesn't count unless you use the GIF...I really hope they start working in the messaging that Trump has inspired and cozied up to fanatical, far-right extremist supporters who openly fantasize about what a great rallying cry it would be if he was martyred, and this was the tragic, inevitable result. Assassination attempts are among the most politically fragile moments in a nation's history, and he cynically used that moment to say "Fight! Fight! Fight!". Hammer home that the overwhelmingly vast majority of Americans on both sides don't want to see any sort of political violence in this country.
This kind of reminds me a bit of how Biden started projecting leadership with all his addresses during Covid. During chaotic times, most people just crave normalcy and stability. The fact that the lunatics don't get this very simple fact about human nature is a huge blind spot for them. Of course Trump's team fantasizes about restoring "peace and order" after they execute Order 66, but that's another story.
Hang in there. We're all in this together.
I feel sick, i really do. It's like God is looking out for this guy and he's one of the most corrupt people in power right now.Where is the justice?
This is just hoping things work out, with no coherency whatsoever.I feel you, but a bullet would've been an easy way out for him, and probably worse for the country in the long run. I know in the moment it seems like a worst case scenario, but just remember that nobody has a clue how it's going to play out. For two weeks we were talking about stutters and gaffes. Now we're talking about gravely serious sh** like assassination attempts. Narratives change fast.
The pickle Trump has found himself in now is his deep ties to Project 2025. If Donald Trump tries to play the role of (false) unifier and turn his grift to sympathy votes, then you have to keep pressing him on The Heritage Foundation, Mike Flynn, all the Trump loyalists who flat out say we're in the second American Revolution. Flynn thinks he's George Washington. It's not a joke. Trump's recent attempt to distance himself from it proves that he knows it's cancer. And it pissed off the alt-right when he did it. That's the crack in his armor that needs to be exploited. Put their side in disarray.
Want to cry some more?
Because being uniformed never hurt anyone.....Want to cry some more?

Poll: Biden and Trump supporters sharply divided by the media they consume
Those who don’t follow political news feel more positively about Donald Trump and Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and more negatively about Joe Biden.www.nbcnews.com
The more interesting and depressing aspect, is the largest sources of media, are where people have been learning sympathy for Trump over the last 48 hours.Because being uniformed never hurt anyone.....
Is that the same story where Moses used an AK-47 to lead the Jews out of Egypt to protect the Second Amendment?God isn’t looking out for someone who represents all of the seven sins.
If anything, God has been influencing so many warning signs Trump is the golden calf.
From his skin coloring, to the statue that was made of him for a convention, to Trump literally surrounding himself with gold.
It’s impossible not to see Trump and not think about the story of the golden calf.
The polling isn't close. That's the issue. Biden can't just win. He has to win big, because if he doesn't, he's going to lose the swing states. Trump +3 is basically Trump +8.While I get cynicism, if all of that was ACTUALLY the case (those not following the news and those following the news from most major sources being led to Trump) the polling wouldn’t be as close as it is; especially with sometimes both flip flopping on top of polling having been noticeably off since 2022 and observable in the 2024 republican primary.
Going that far just reads as an obvious reach. If true, Trump would be ahead by twenty or even forty like Michelle Obama was found to be over Trump.
That both Biden AND Trump supporters are against their portrayals by the news is revealing. Both claiming the news isn’t fair to them. That’s what the optics there actually are. Neither liking their portrayals. Both wanting the news to be gentler on them.
