Lets say you're a parent and haven't taught your 11 yr old how to ride a bike, would you?

How about your 19 yr old? Would you convince them to learn?

You yourself don't know how to ride a bike, but drive a car...would you try to learn?

my ex-girlfriend couldnt ride a bike. I couldnt stop laughing when she told me that :hehe:

11yo yes I'd teach him. At 19 he could learn himself or ask a friend, but at that age he or she would be much more interested in a car.

If I had a car but didn't know how to ride a bike I probably wouldn't care to learn at that point

I learned in 8th grade so that's what? 13 years old. I tried when I was about 4 but ran into the mailbox and never tried again, much to my dad's disdain. But now we go bikeriding so it worked out in the end.

I can't imagine why you wouldn't have already taught them how to ride a bike. But if the kid were 19, I'd still teach them, but I'd make them use training wheels.:oldrazz:

I didnt learn how to ride a bike until I was in the 11-13 range. I'd teach someone if I could.

LOL, what made you ask this? Anyways, at 11, sure why not. But at 19, forget it. If I were that kid, I'd rather live without knowing how to ride a bike, then being laughed at while being seen trying to learn at that age. However, I've never got a hang of skateboarding. I have no idea how the damn thing works.

You know the saying "It's like riding a bike. You never forget"? Yeah, I defied that "law". I forgot over a winter break... but then I learned again.

How do you forget riding a bike? You get on. Peddle.

Might go on another awesome bike ride this summer if I have enough time. Couple of summers ago I rode my bike for about three to four hours straight! From my house all the way to my grandparents (who live about thirty minutes away, by car). So I was riding my bike through the town, walked it up a steep hill then rode down which was fun.

In other words I love racing my car, but bikes are great fun too. At least in my opinion.

11yr old i would teach them 19yr old forget you. lol

A lady I worked with learned how to ride a bike in her 40's. It's something everyone should learn. It's a great form of excercise. If you can't learn to ride a regular bike, try a recumbant one.

Spawn probably is a bike pusher in real life.

This is about the only type of bike that might be safe on Toronto streets:

I had to teach my fiancee how to ride a bike 2 yrs ago (she was 29 at the time)...She was kinda embarrassed telling me that..But i taught her and now we go bike riding once a week..:)

Riding a bike has basically become a metaphor for how NOT to forgot how to do something. Plus, everyone needs to learn how to ride a bike, in case there's not a car nearby and they need to make a getaway so they're not an accessory.

 Of course, that's just me spitballing scenarios.

I was 6 when I finally got to ditch the training wheels, but yeah, everybody should definitely be able to ride a bike (or be learned it at least), no matter the age.

I haven't a clue. But i laughed when i read that.
