I'm too goddamn lazy to go to the doctor or a walk-in clinic so whatever, once in a while at random times my hearing will go out completely, usually the right ear, then it'll slowly come to with a loud ringing that eventually fades out.

And you know when metal gets too close to a microphone and it makes that screeching sound or something? Well. When it happens, it's f**kin' loud as hell in my left ear and it feels like someone's driving a knife through my skull.

What the cock is up?

Could be high blood pressure. Or CIA electro-magnetic experimentation/harrassment, which is very common.

have you been abducted by aliens recently?

Tendonitis.

Or irritable bowel syndrome.

mononucleoisis....

or rabies.....

....maybe glaucoma.

KkKk, next time I'm at the mall I'll check my blood pressure with those free machines that squeeze your bicep. btw no aliens. I hope not. It's been bothering me for like two or three years. Getting fed up with it.

And Erz, I don't get it.

I think tinnitus is like a ringing in the ears condition.

Sorry, I'm not a Dr, I just play one in the bedroom.

I think you mean Tinnitus because tendonitis would effect, well, tendons.

And definitely go see a doctor, because I don't think tinnitus ever goes away on its own, and for most people it never goes away.

There should be a new policy where, if you come on the Hype with a distressing medical problem thread, asking what it could be, you get banned until you send a mod a pic of a note from your doctor stating that you went in to be looked at.

that same thing has been happening to me since i was little.
if you just push down on your ear real hard it usually goes away.
at least that works for me.

I googlied it and it's something about muscles. Anyhoos k, I went to mark down schedule a doc's appointment in my book thing but it's already there, lol, I forgot about some other thing I was gonna see the MD about, on the 6th next year, 'sall good. Cool about Tinnitus though. Sucks that it'll never go away. :(

Yes, MC.
The problem is that your ear drum is trying to crawl out of your head.

Simply push it back in and yell at it so it'll be too scared to try and escape again and will realize that inside your head is the only truly safe nest for it.

There's nothing cool about tinnitus. :p

And pray you don't have it. It drives people insane. Imagine a noise that no one else can hear, never goes away, and only gets louder as you get older. That's sounds like hell to me.

At least the are treatments.

It's not a constant thing, the longest it's lasted was mayhaps 20 seconds and it's only been in my right ear. I wouldn't mind it though. It's just distracting when the hearing goes. :trans:

Awesome, 'cause I was scared I'd have to buy earplugs or something since I don't want them escaping when I'm asleep. :)

cool, maybe littel people are having a party in your ear :)
...but why was i not invited X(

Probably just pushing that q-tip in a little too far.

Could be more than just tinnitus. It could also be a fistula, which is a small perforation of the inner ear drum that can cause all these problems. Google it and read up and spend the next week freaking out that you might actually have one.

"This has been Master Chief Musings."

This is pretty common with ear-entry STDs.
