Action-Adventure Robin Hood on MGM+ (Sean Bean, Jack Patten, Lauren McQueen)

A new Robin Hood series is set to debut on MGM+ and it looks pretty good. I’ll always give something with Sean Bean a try; I’m interested to see his take on the Sheriff of Nottingham.

It sounds like Marian will be more central to Robin’s outlaw resistance in this version and they work closely as partners. As someone who read like 100 different versions of the story when I was a kid, I’m always interested in a new take. Sadly we’ve had some BAD adaptations in the last couple decades. The Russell Crowe and Taron Egerton ones make the Costner version look like a full on classic. Hopefully this new series can give us something interesting.

Looks a little Assassin’s Creed too, which I totally dig.

MGM really seems to be going all in on these shows based on popular historical (or legendary) figures. I have to check out that Winter King show about Arthur and their Billy the Kid series.

If this turns out well, it would be interesting to see shows about Charlemagne or Hannibal.
