Nottingham & Hood

Four? What happened to Will Smith's Hood film with the Wachowskis?

Personally I love the sound of Sony's version...

:lmao:

I am picturing in transit heists of Prince John's plans being moved by carriage as Robinic Hoodetto and his Merry Crew give chase on modded turbo horses.

Nottingham & Hood sounds like a buddy cop/ detective movie!

How about Chris Pratt as Robin?

When I was a kid I had a Robin Hood book in which the character of Will Scarlet was a complete dandy who always dressed to the nines and looked like an utter fop, but who was also incredibly strong and deadly with a sword. Nobody's ever done that interpretation of the character in the movies but it'd be interesting to see if they could sneak it in here...

Levi would only work if he has a flesh colored goatee like in Thor 2.

Bloom is too old I think, and Robin is too similar to Legolas and Will Turner. Depending which studio gets to production first, it's better to cast a young up-and-comer for Robin. Someone hungry and willing to prove himself.

It's not as if a lot of the other Robin Hood actors in the past couple decades have been spring chickens.

That's the problem though. I can understand Hollywood going with older actors like Russell Crowe or Patrick Bergin (or even someone grossly miscast like Kevin Costner) -- they're rugged and/or bring star power required for the greenlight. But when you have younger actors like Errol Flynn, Cary Elwes, Michael Praed or Jonas Armstrong as the lead -- there's more fun and you want to see more of their adventures.

Bloom is pushing 40, and he just doesn't have that rugged look for a legend living in the forest.

I imagine whichever films get off the ground first, the studios will probably cast someone like Robert Kazinsky or Julian Morris as Robin. Someone in his late 20s-early 30s who's recognizable but not a household name... and someone who has an English accent (or put a good one on).

Zac Levi. Charming, rascal with a great English accent. Been channeling Errol Flynn (and if a biopic of Errol is ever done ...) since Tangled and on to Fandral. Perfect casting would be perfect for Hood.

Levi would be okay, but he wouldn't really make me excited to see it. He was barely memorable as Fandral (probably more the movie's fault, but still). I'd go with one of these guys if you could get them:

Michael Fassbender (yeah, he's suggested for everything, but he'd be great)
Luke Evans
Henry Cavill
Sam Caflin

What about Ben Whishaw or James McAvoy? They could work and I'd prefer if they cast someone who is actually, you know, British to play Robin this time around.

Yeah, either of them would be good. Though it's a bit hard to picture Whishaw as a badass. He's always been kinda dweeby in everything I've seen him in. Great actor though, so maybe he could pull it off.

Whislaw would be a great Will Scarlet or Much. He doesn't really strike me as a Robin type though.

McAvoy... I don't know. He's Scottish but he does an English accent really well.

You've given it more thought than I have. In any case, I still think Bloom would be a good fit.
