Robin, Nightwing, Birds of Prey to be cancelled in Feb.

I was thinking of picking it up again, but I wanted to wait until after RIP to avoid getting caught up in all that nonsense.

It really doesn't have much to do with RIP at all, which I also skipped. I think there are a total of three or four lines in the entire arc that even mention Batman at all, much less the fact that he's missing.

Eh. Maybe I'll pick it up anyway after RIP and read it until it dies so I can be that much more upset when it goes. Life ain't worth living without s*** to b**** about.

Which of course means that no one's reading it.

Just cause no one is reading a certain book, doesn't mean the book isn't good. How many books that are canceled and whatnot, that people DON'T pick up until after the run when they realize how better it is? You never picked up someones run that was done and over, and said to yourself holy **** this stuff is good?

Honestly? The 'RIP' arc (which is pretty much only addressed in a few panels of someone going "hey, batman's missing!") is the single best Nightwing arc since the first 6 issues.

What a way to go out, at least.

Robin has been great lately. Anyword on what DC is going to replace these books with? I've heard a Batman & Robin comic will replace Nightwing but no word on anything else.

Hmmmn.
"Nightwing and Robin"

I'd read that.

Yeah, you and maybe 5 other people. I think DC really needs to refocus because it's clear that a Nightwing book just isn't viable anymore.

Just five?

I read TWO STORIES where the two worked together,.. I liked both.
I think it could work with the two calling on Batman whenever the crap hit the fan and they need that cheerfull happy tude that Bats is known for.

I don't think they will legacy them. I think the three might team up briefly to cover Gotham when batman dies (yeah right) until he comes back then they all split new number ones and massive sales.

You're probably right... New number ones with 5 variant covers.

Give Tomasi the writers job, and I'll buy 2 copies of it every month,

tomasi is great on everything he writes... id love a good JLA book by him with doug mankhe on art

Can't believe that DC is ripping Nightwing from him and making him write Outsiders.

He went into Nightwing, knowing what was going to happen so it's not like DC is ripping it from him.

And I doubt that they are forcing him to write Outsiders as well. I'm downright excited for Tomasi on Outsiders, if anyone can fix that book from the botched launch, to losing Dixon, and replacing him with freaking Tieri, it's Tomasi.

They should of never changed the Outsiders and turned it into Batman and the Outsiders. Although the OYL Outsiders was pretty bad.

I'll give it an arc to see if I wanna stick with it, but I probably won't.

Batman and the Outsiders was a cool concept. The problem was they botched it up every single step of the way. First it was supposed to be by Winick with Batman and Nightwing on the team. Then it had Bedard with Batman, Catwoman, Martian Manhunter, Joseph, Metamorpho, Thunder, Grace, and Katana. Then it was Dixon who was making the best of a crappy situtation and could have saved it but DC pissed him off so he left and replaced him with ****** Tieri.

I really wish Bedard's Outsiders had gotten made. What I saw in those Five of a Kind one-shots had the seeds for some pretty solid comics.

The 5 of a kind were pretty bust to me. One or two (the one with Nightwing and the one with Roy, if he was ever in them, I'm kind adrunk so whatever) were ok, but the rest seemed more like "This hero is better than that and here's why".

The one with Metamorpho and the Aquanewb was the best for me. They formed the beginnings of what could've been a really cool mentor/student relationship had Bedard's run been allowed to go ahead.
