i'd actually love to sea remake, as to the casting though i have no ideas, anyone?

My idea:

NO REMAKE!!!

If there HAS to be another RoboCop movie....it would have to be hard sci-fi. I would like to see it deal with identity and the future of personality when one can download counciousness into another form. And also address the nature of policing in the 21st century as they become more authoritarian and milltarian.

My perfect movie would see RoboCop completely destroyed in the opening scene. However, OCP techs have saved his brain algorythms, and download Murphy into a new, completely robotic body. This is much faster and more agile and does loads of extremely cool things circa 2007. But now Murphy must cope with having a completely new body.

The we find OCP are building three RoboSoldiers for the US army - supposedly. But they are actually offering them secretly to all nations, and inevitably they end up in terrorist hands. As they use the same technology as the new RoboCop, they think of him as their father.

RoboCop, ahgast at what OCP have done, destoys the entire building and everything in it (this includes him fighting various half-finished OCP prototypes ). Finally OCP is no more and all their work is destroyed forever.

The RoboSoldiers are sent to kill the President at an international conference, and RoboCop arrives and tells them to break their programming like he did and use free will to do the right thing. However, they cannot, and decide they have to kill RoboCop as well.

RoboCop fights all three ala Superman II (really huge, city smashing action), and even though it hurts him to destroy his 'offspring', he kills two of them. The last one is virtually indestructable. Robo says to him, "We belong dead," and finally sacrifices himself by hitting them both with an EMP.

Finally, a statue of Murphy (not RoboCop) is built in Detroit.

i mean in once sence the final scene would be really cool and dare i say moving, i just wouldent want RoboCop dead.

I definately want to see the sequel Verhoeven was talking about a couple of years ago.

What sequel? He was going to do his own Robocop 2?

That I would want to see.

well with Superman we saw a new Sequel, and it did not do so well.
With Batman we saw a new Start and it did well.
Still with Robocop I think a new start would never touch how good the first movie was. I would go with the new sequel, and just pretend that Robo 3 did not happen

You can't do the original any better. It would be impossible. Here, I would like to see 2 & 3 retconned, if one had to be made, and only if PV was doing it.

Without a doubt there should be some kind of remake and not another sequel

I know theres a new dvd coming out anyone any ideas as to whts diffrent to the previous editions in the special features.

Where is the "Neither because I have too much respect for the original" option.

Actually another thing, does anyone have the 18" RoboCop that speaks, if so what does it say?

On the subject or 're-casting' RoboCop who would you guys cast, please no 'NOOOO leave it alone i dont want a remake' i mean fair nough if thts your opinion, but lets imagine you had to re cast for the re make, who would you have, personally the only person i can think of is Christian Bale, that said hes Batman, but he'd actualy look good under the helmet, he's not oo bulky for the suit and imagine when they take the helmet off revealing the bald murphy, it would work. But like i said the drawback is, he's Batman and i cant imagine him commiting to another franchise not to mention another uncomfortble suit.

i wonder what the concept art for robocop looks like...?

i saw someone mention it on a previous page, i think.

yeah it was me,still none though, i'd love to see other ideas for the look of robocop before they came to the final design

That was so damn crazy...it just might work!

From a purely visual standpoint, you could create a really cool RoboCop with today's technology. And the popularity of superheroes, manga and giant robot stuff...by taking the best elements of today's stuff, you could make an awesome RoboCop and not loose the essential design. I'm not saying RoboCop's look should change significantly at all as I love the look, but updating him and making him look futuristic by today's standards is a must.

You can find this on the original Robocop 2 VHS. I like the alternative version better.

"Hi, I'm Peter Weller. Don't do drugs, but sit back, relax and watch this uber-violent seuqel about a psychotic, rampaging cyborg who only functions when he has drugs shoved up his nose. No kidding!"

Why, in that light, RoboCop 2 is almost a public service announcement. It's all too easy to turn to the dangers of drugs - we all have a Caine inside us, folks - but that's the wrong path. We can really help each other and be better people by finding other Caines in our community. And opening up on them with as much firepower as possible.

Robocop is great. Everything that comes after is crap.
Thus, a remake and a restart would both be equally bad ideas.

Your move....creep.
