RoboCop Reboot

He looks more like a villain than someone who'd usually be contracted for a character like this but maybe his performance will overcome that?

Wasnt Kinnaman a runner up for Thor?

He was in consideration for one of the lead roles in Thor. Not sure if Thor himself though could have been for Loki.

Kinnaman was also considered for playing the lead in Mad Max 4. Hardy beat him to it though.

EDIT: Nevermind it does seem he was in the running for Thor. Interesting.

who the f--- is Joel Kinnaman?

That was my reaction as well. :funny:

Apparently he's a good actor though.

Watch The Killing. Not only is it a great show, but Kinnaman is one of the reasons I love the show.

I think he can pull it off.

Definitely. Weller suited the 80's more and Kinnamen has more of a modern way about him.

I agred Doctor Jones. I love him in The Killing. This is great casting. Hopefully this wont fall apart liek Arthur and Lancelot did. I wanna see Kinnaman make it big

Same here. Plus I can't wait for Season 2 of The Killing.

If Kinnaman accept the offer I'd actually be interested.

And all you guys should see Snabba Cash (I heard it's finally coming out in the US) if you want to know if this guy has acting chops, or just watch The Killing.

Nevermind just watched a clip of the Killing. Dude has a solid American accent.

He's awesome in The Killing and this is some great casting that has me more interested in the film.

He has a really thick accent. Wonder how they'll get past that.
I guess they could always use the fact he's half a robot and say that affects his speech. Sounds sorta plausible.... sorta :P

@Obin Just saw a clip of him in The Killing. He does a pretty good job of covering up his accent actually. That's one less thing to worry about.

Guy seems like a pretty solid choice the more I hear/see about him.

He's very versatile in the role. He could at times be scummy, but then you see instances of a good natured human beings. Either way, he can completely turn your expectations in the opposite directions of what you thought you had of him. That's an amazing actor.

I just can't see him looking good once he has the helmet on. It's his jawline I think.

If my memories doesn't deceive me I believe he played Raskolnikov in a theatre production of Dostoyevsky's Crime and Punishment in Göteborg back in '07, I wish I went there cause I heard nothing but good things about his performance.

@Figs Seems fine to me. Here's a look at him with a clean shave:

Perhaps it's because you're just imagining him in the bulky Peter Weller version that suited him. I do think we're going to be seeing a different looking Robocop. One that fits Kinnaman's body a lot more. Or he could bulk up. That clean shaven picture looks better. It depends on the direction they're going in.

Nice development. Don't know dudes work bbut if he takes role wish him well.

weller did'nt a have huge jawline in robo cop either they kind of have a similair look

Kinnaman has a much more defined and chiseled one actually.

Plus the Robocop helmet covers up most of the jaw and mainly accentuates the corners of ones mouth and lips.

A good set of relatively thick lips is what Robocop needs as ridiculous as that might sounds. :funny:

Also while I know they're definitely going to streamline and update the Robocop armor one thing they have to keep is the basic gist of the helmet.

That's one of the most iconic features of the character. Drastically change that and it ceases to be Robocop. They can play around with the body armor as much as they want but the helmet should stay relatively the same.

Ok, that picture is a bit better than the previous one. I can kind of see it now. Don't get me wrong, I'll give him a chance, but I love the original so much that this really needs to be great.

2013 might be just as awesome as 2012. John McClane, Superman, Wolverine, and RoboCop! I think this film will be grittier and dirtier than the original. I have yet to see elite squad so Im not sure.
