RockSlide Gets No LOVE!

Yeah, and? Basically, you just pwned yourself by finding something that states that the term "hyperspace" was created by some guy named Campbell. That's not Asimov, Bradbury or Heinlien, like you originally said. Also, that's not the phrase, "make the jump to hyperspace" which is also what you originally said. And just so you know, this is what you said. Not me.

Nope. You're the one who put the quotation marks around "make the jump to hyperspace" first and you're the one said that it was three writers who specifically "coined the phrase". Funny, but you haven't shown me anything about that phrase. The only thing you've shown me is a term. And the term apparently wasn't even created by who you originally stated it was created by. Haha.

Serving in the military or not has nothing to do with your wild statements about the origins of words, they're meanings and whether or not they are in fact words, to begin with. That's a laughable argument. And I DID read your excepts. They make enough sense. The funny thing is your continued ability to not make sense, though. Either that, or contradicting yourself every step of the way. But, whatever. Peace.

At the point where you "tried" to change what I said to win an arguement,.. you lost and proved I really don't have to pay you any mind.

Actually,... it ended when you repeatedly failed to read what I wrote but instead spun in circles putting your words up and demanding I prove them.

No worries - we'll all be entertained everytime I use a word or ref you are not familar with.

(chuckle).

Dude, you came up with these crazy statements that I copied VERBATIM. At some point, you have to have to agree on what reality is. The reality is that you have no idea what you're talking about most of the time. This is one of those times.

The one person shooter?

(smile)

My refs for those phrases are way older than some Videogame,.. I'm talking Heinlien, Zelany, and Niven now.

All three of those writers were the FIRST to use those phrases in their Science Fiction.

They have been used in the MILITARY for a bit too,... (Swapping out and Bringing *blank* up online.)

Meh,... interesting how you try to limit me to what you know and

experienced.

V.

Swapping out is a military term, swapping out materials is not.

Bringing up is not a military term, they are words that are used by military personel but bringing up powers certianly is not.

Just because people in the military use words don't make them military terms. The military also has used the words, "the, a, here, there, forward, right, etc" just because they're said occasionally don't make them military terms. God I really hope you weren't in the service.

They're gamer references, "bringing up powers" especially.

You need to kill like 80 more goblins and increase your experience 3 to 4 more levels before you comment, then you might start making sense. Neither your "horn of stupidity" nor your "crown of military ignorance" seems to be getting you out of this dungeon kid.

Pfft.

I'm reading two folk maybe three w/o life experience telling me what words can be heard in the military.

If you want to defend him,.. try harder and be specific.

Even your quote of my words have me putting a "blank spot" where you identify what is being brought online has been missed by you AND your trying to tell me that I said such terms ARE military terms when I specifically said that "They have been used in the MILITARY for a bit too".

I hope that if you EVER were in the military that it was a short stay,.. and IF you are in now,.. you need to get a clue and read before you come off sounding as stupid as you just did.

I'm disappointed that a few w/o a clue are trying to put me in their tini-tiny little box that is within the scope of their understanding, (look we have two kids saying that my using terms I've used in CIC for years means I play a video game!), because they don't know any better.

TSK.

Why do you people keep f**king with V? Nothing better to do?

Without life experience? That's just stupid. Everyone alive has life experience. In the vastly small amount of knowledge you've gained in your life I'm pretty sure our paths haven't crossed so you're really just talking out your @ss when you assume what someone else has done.

I'm not defending him I'm pointing out you don't know what a military term is. I know you said they have been used in the military a bit too, but I'm sure most words in the english language have been said by someone in the service over the course of history, that doesn't mean jack and you certianly can't credit them as being specific or in any way attributed to the service. You seem to think if someone in the military says words in any sequence than any sequence you can put them in magically become military terms. I think I was very specific on which terms you didn't know jack about, but I refuse to give you any more than minimal effort as you don't really call for more, plus half the time no one can really make out what you're trying to say. Example:

" Even your quote of my words have me putting a "blank spot" where you identify what is being brought online has been missed by you AND your trying to tell me that I said such terms ARE military terms when I specifically said that "They have been used in the MILITARY for a bit too". "

See I have no idea what that means, so I really can't answer anything about it. Later we'll work on sentence structure and articulating our thoughts to others in comprehensible ways but for now we'll just try and give you an understanding of what a military term is. It is a term coined and with a very specific meaning to those in the service. Not all words are military terms and "swapping out materials" or "bringing up powers" are definately not. Please, please, please show you understand that or am I just wasting my time?

I'm disappointed too, I'm disappointed people presume to know me but then show they're ignorance by saying something like "bringing up powers" is a military term. I'm disappointed you made it past basic, but I'm a little tickled by you telling your drill instructor, "Gunny, I'm bringing up my power level up to 8 for this PFT, I should have no problem slaying the dragon". (so I guess you do amuse me enough in your own strange way for me to bother)

Yeah, Varient's up there will Celldog in the delusional department. How can you not poke that and see what it does?

that was a waste of time.

Mostly because it's obvious I hurt your feelings by not accepting your telling me what I meant.
That's exactly what I meant by life experience.

I was a Radarman in the Coast Guard,.. I was specific in what I meant when I said where i have heard the words used,..

Your silly behind came in and said things I did not say or mean and now we have to suffer paragraphs of your feeling being hurt.

Tsk.

carry on.

It's fun, like looking into the mind of some insane child. Plus it makes you feel better about yourself.

Actually it's a learning tool for my child,...

He reads over my shoulder just like others do here at work and they marvel at the level of ignorance.

Yeah, Varient's up there will Celldog in the delusional department. How can you not poke that and see what it does?

and that is the main difference between being mature or immature,... the kiddie urge to poke with something or someone you don't understand.

Thank you for the insight on what I'm dealing with.

The difference between us and the people you "work" with, is that they have the added benefit of you explaining just what the **** it is that you mean in your incomprehensible posts. All we've got to on is a jumble of misspelled and/or made up words, obscure phrases and horrible grammar.

Yes, this an internet message board. Deal with it.

Why do you people keep f**king with V? Nothing better to do?

What it comes down to is PJ2 has an issue with things I type because he either needs someone to translate for him or he just can't believe that others outside myself use the words.

I've been trying to ignore him because it wastes time to have to pull up a reference simply because "he doesn't get it" in threads that have nothing to do with his issue.

Now that I know he's simply messing with me as you'd expect a child in Jr High to do,.. I can ignore him like I do GAH.

TSK.

So do you have like an "I am Sam" thing going on with your kid? I hope no one takes him/her away from you. Just because you have a deficiency doesn't mean you can't be a loving parent. You tell them I said so when the mental heath care worker visits.

A Coastie? Well why didn't you say so in the first place. I was talking about the military. You did however hurt my feelings. Mainly my pride in my fellow brothers and sisters in the service, but then you said you were a coastie, so all's forgiven.

Yes, this an internet message board. Deal with it.

(Laughter.)

Now your feelings are hurt - That's good.

I guess it's the level of whom I'm dealing with here.

I work with people who can talk about a subject or make a reference to something said weeks or months before and there is no "what?" "Huh" involved, because there is enough intelligence present to connect the dots.

Reading you flop around because you can't believe or accept something unless someone says the same thing to you or verifies it so you have to fall back and whine that it still shouldn't be that hard for you is a large part of the entertainment here att the office.

But I'm done,... I've been told that I shouldn't waste time with folk who can't show common courtesy in a medium where your behavior is all on you.

(should I translate that for him? - Nah.)
I guess I'm dealing with your immaturity in this fashion.

Interesting.
Now I'm reading what I thought were two adults "trying to get back at me."

(chuckle)

Whatever child,.. I'm too secure for you.

Before I was willing to give you the benifit,.. now that it's obvious where you are coming from this has gone down to the level of where I expect schoolyard taunts and responses.

carry on summore.

You're right, Varient. I'm an idiot. Using real words and proper grammar has ******ed my intelligence. You have my sincerest apologies.

By the way, it's good to know the Coast Guard is protecting the shores of this great land by surfing the Hype.

Dude, someone's boating without their running lights! Keep this country safe! Power up to level ten and use your sword of destiny to fight those terrorists!

Rockslide is a cheap Thing rip off, we'd all be better off with more creativity.

I disagree.

The Thing would be killed by some of the things Rockslide has been through.

neither here nor there,... Agreeing to disagree for the sake of the thread.
